Can’t pick a favorite color? Use them all in our new bright and cheery Over the Rainbow party collection. It has been raining for days in our neck of the woods, and there’s more rain in the forecast this week! But they say rainbows always come after the rain, so we’re going to live vicariously through this party until the sun is shining again! We’re excited to share all the colorful products and rainbow themed party ideas for a most dreamy rainbow celebration.
A rainbow themed birthday party can work for children of any age, from one to 21 (because who doesn’t like rainbows?)! We saw this invitation and were immediately inspired by the bright colors and white puffy clouds.
You know we love a good backdrop to bring the party theme to life, and this whimsical balloon rainbow backdrop with fluffy white clouds does not disappoint. It’s ridiculously easy to assemble and will make little guests feel like they’re walking on sunshine. The rainbow measures approximately 4′ x 4′ and can be adhered to any blank wall or backdrop. You (yes, you!) can totally do this!
We kept the rainbow theme going with party goodies and decor in every color imaginable! We had fun mixing and matching colors on everything from balloons and tissue tassel garlands, to paper goods and treat bags.
Taste the rainbow of sweets, like gumballs in every color and candy sticks. Put them out on your dessert table and let guests fill up treat bags as a take-home favor.
Let the paper goods do the talking by simply frosting cupcakes white and then dressing them up with colorful cupcake wrappers and toppers. So easy!
Sugar cookies are our love language, especially when they’re rainbows. We offer a cookie kit that includes a rainbow cookie cutter, cellophane bags, baker’s twine and our mom’s famous sugar cookie recipe card—all the essentials you need to make and package rainbow cookies.
For the cake, we frosted it, covered the entire thing in mini marshmallows and stuck an adorable shooting star cake topper and number sparkler candle on top. It doesn’t get much easier than that!
Of course it isn’t a party without sparkly glitter party hats with pom poms, and these cuties definitely kick the celebration up a couple of notches.
We think it’s super important for any party to have activities or games to keep the kiddos entertained. There are many fun and easy options for an over the rainbow party. Here are few of our favorites.
Rainbow Crowns or Party Hats. Set out some plain crowns or party hats, and as the children arrive, have them decorate their own hats with art supplies like pens, crayons and stickers in a rainbow of colors. Then they can wear their creations throughout the party!
Rainbow Art. Inspire budding little artists by having guests paint their own rainbows. You can purchase small canvases and easels at any craft store. Offer a palette of colorful paints and paint brushes, and let their creativity go wild!
Rainbow Bead Station. Set out a selection of pony beads in a rainbow of colors so guests can make necklaces and bracelets. This will keep them busy for awhile, and they will absolutely love it!
We hope this party has inspired your own sweet rainbow celebration!
