You’ll love it because it’s 100% natural, low in sugar and very economical. Plus, it doesn’t have any of the yucky ingredients found in store-bought pink lemonade mixes and drinks, like artificial flavors, artificial colors, high fructose corn syrup or other chemical ingredients. It’s also perfect for homemade popsicles!
This recipe is suitable for babies 12 months and up, toddlers, big kids and adults. If you have a family history of berry allergies, please consult with your child’s pediatrician before introducing strawberries.
Strawberry Lemonade
Note: Use organic ingredients whenever possible.
12 cups of cold water
10 lemons
10-15 organic strawberries—washed and stems removed
4 tablespoons of sugar or honey (add more if desired)
Pour the water into a large jug, pitcher or glass drink dispenser. Add the juice of the 10 lemons—don’t worry if the seeds fall in. Put the strawberries into a blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Add to the jug and stir.
Place a fine mesh strainer over a large pot, and pour the lemonade through the strainer into the pot. This will remove any lemon or strawberry seeds and unwanted fibers. Pour the strained lemonade back into the jug.
Place the sugar or honey into a small pot with 1/2 cup of water. Warm over medium heat, and stir until sugar or honey is completely dissolved. Add to the lemonade jug and stir well. Add more sugar or honey to taste, if desired.
Place the jug into the fridge until cold, and serve. Enjoy!
