DIY is all the rage these days, and I’ve definitely joined the tribe of enthusiastic crafters. I’ve amassed quite the collection of supplies lately (sorry hubby, #cantstopwontstop), but one thing I haven’t yet added to my DIY arsenal is a stencil. And I have to admit that until lately, I thought that stencils were better left to my grandmother’s house than my own.

The elementary school that I attended was renovated right before I started third grade. I have this vivid memory of watching them stencil apples and pencils and stacks of books and other school-themed objects bordering the lockers in the hallways.
