Mother’s Day is such a special time to recognize the lovely ladies in our lives who tirelessly dedicate every second of every day to their families. Whether you’re celebrating mom, grandma, a relative, a friend or even yourself, we’ve come up with some sweet, kid-friendly ideas to honor these remarkable women.
Fingerprint Necklace. There’s nothing like a handmade Mother’s Day gift to make mom’s heart explode! We guarantee this fingerprint necklace will be something she’ll actually want to wear. Aren’t they adorable?!
Materials: 1 package Sculpey Oven-Bake Clay (we used silver), wax paper, rolling pin, mini cookie cutter, mini alphabet stamps, 1/4″ ribbon
Place one bar of Sculpey (1/4 of the package) between two sheets of wax paper, and roll out to 1/8″ thickness. Cut into desired shape with your mini cookie cutter. Imprint LOVE YOU along the bottom with mini alphabet stamps. Place child’s fingerprint above wording and punch a small hole through the top for the ribbon.
Bake for 15 minutes at 275 degrees. Let cool and string with ribbon!
Mother’s Day Picnic. We love the idea of packing up a lovely lunch for mom and enjoying it together somewhere sunshiny! Here’s an adorable lunch we put together for some inspiration. We lined our natural wooden berry basket with a floral napkin and filled it with yummy goodies, like a sandwich, strawberries and macaroons.
This is a sweet little lunch that mom (and kids) will LOVE!
Teapot Floral Centerpiece. You can never go wrong with flowers! Here’s an idea—use a teapot as a vase for a floral centerpiece. The kids will have fun helping to put it together, and you’ll end up with a beautiful arrangement!
Materials: teapot, floral foam, fresh cut flowers
Simply insert the floral foam into the teapot and arrange the flowers inside. It’s the perfect centerpiece for Mother’s Day brunch!
Strawberry Trifle. Our mom is super extraordinary in so many ways, but she’s especially amazing in the kitchen! Since she’s an incredible baker, we thought it would be fun to share her yummy strawberry trifle recipe for your own Mother’s Day celebration. To kick up the cute factor, we’ve made them in our Lil’ Mason Drinking Glasses. So adorable and delicious!
They’re super simple to make by layering white cake, pudding and strawberries, and your kids will love to help!
Mini Strawberry Trifle
1 box white cake mix
3 pints strawberries
1 small package cheesecake or vanilla flavored pudding
1 cup cool whip
Bake the white cake according to package directions. Let cool and cut into small, bite-sized squares. Mix pudding according to package directions. After it sets, mix in cool whip. Wash and slice strawberries.
When ready, layer bottom of Lil’ Mason with cake bites, then add a layer of pudding, then a layer of strawberries. Repeat until full, and top with a dollop of cool whip and a small strawberry. This recipe will make about six mini strawberry trifles.
We hope all you moms out there are able to kick your feet up, relax and enjoy your special day—you deserve it!!
