We’re in this business because we love doing what we do, and a huge part of it is helping parents make their nursery design dreams come true. Pam and I enjoyed a quick two days in Arlington, VA where we made our grand prize winner’s dream “Embrace Space” come to life thanks to Bravado Designs.
Along this delightful journey, we met eight other amazing finalists and selected two runners-up. While we were not able to pop into their homes like we did for the lucky winner, we wanted to provide finalists Jennifer and Heather with our digital vision of a custom Embrace Space based on their wants and needs.
Jennifer: Classic and Cozy in Washington State
Jennifer is a mom of two, who has struggled to pull together a space for her children and herself on a budget. Her taste is classic and traditional, so we chose navy with pops of red and used grey as our neutral color for the room. Bringing in interesting patterns with touches of ikat and zigzag will make all the difference.
Heather: At One with Nature in Arizona
Heather is pregnant with her second child, due this winter. We were captivated with her creative idea of creating an outdoor Embrace Space in her backyard, where she could watch her garden grown and let her older daughter play. It’s an inspirational idea that many parents can relate to. Therefore, we want to bring the indoors out. Grounding the patio with an indoor/outdoor carpet and playing up the greens of the garden are top priority. Pops of orange complement her home’s existing retro vibe, and the hanging rattan chair is simply irresistible.

To Jennifer and Heather, we hope you are able to execute some of the ideas we shared today. And to everyone who took the time to enter and share a bit about themselves, we cannot thank you enough! Stay tuned for our Grand Prize Essential Embrace Space reveal coming soon!

The second room is interesting with the mix of natural/wooden furniture and modern colors and elements.
