There are two things I will never pass up—a fabulous party and a trip to NYC! Last week was jam-packed with both of my favorite things. Big City Moms hosted their famous “Biggest Baby Shower Ever” in the Big Apple, and we once again found ourselves in the middle of the action. Project Nursery teamed up with new partners, Ergobaby and Orbit Baby, to create the ultimate lounge for expecting parents. We enjoyed the opportunity to talk design and share a little nursery inspiration.
One of our favorite New York-based furniture companies, ducduc, showcased select pieces from their stunning nursery line. Their team was on hand to talk more about the Campaign 4 Drawer Dresser, Savannah Crib and the bold and beautiful Collins Rocker (in custom Marimekko fabric). The crib was perfectly accented with the Mod Patterned crib sheet by Oliver B, which had partygoers oohing and aahing, along with the hot pink Ubbi Diaper Pail.
Because living a well-designed life doesn’t stop at the nursery, we found our partnership with Orbit Baby and Ergobaby an ideal fit. Their contemporary baby gear was featured throughout the lounge, and representatives held demonstrations for expecting parents. One lucky event attendee was able to walk away with Ergobaby’s new designer baby carrier. Really, what baby (and mom!) wouldn’t want to be seen in this? Orbit was also sharing their famous G2 Travel System and the new Double Helix Stroller. This stroller is the ultimate strolling machine.
And, of course, no event would be complete without the help of a fabulous party stylist. Paula Biggs, of Frog Prince Paperie, inspired the look of our lounge with graphic paper magic! Her printable designs brightened up Project Nursery’s look by adding a splash of yellow.
Pregnant moms were able to kick up their feet and enjoy an edible treat created by the talented Brittany from Edible Details. Classic Oreo cookies were topped off with these fondant pieces that were too cute to pass up. (Notice how the fondant pattern is a replica of the glider fabric?)
The tables were adorned with floral arrangements created by our very own Melisa Fluhr. (I think she missed her calling as a florist!) Pink peonies and yellow spider flowers provided the perfect finishing touch to our space.
It’s going to take me weeks to recover from all the excitement the event brought, but the experience was worth it. A special thanks to our PR agency, Elyssa Sanders, of GodfreySanders PR, and PN Design Expert Rachel Low, of Pins & Needles, for putting on the PN pink uniform and joining us as we welcomed new moms (and dads) on their exciting journey with baby.
We can’t wait to do it all again in January in Miami!

I love the cookies! And it’s so cool that the fondant design was inspired or was a replica of that glider fabric.
