Design Reveal: Modern Monkey-Themed Nursery

With the graphic monkey wallpaper as the point of departure in our latest design, we embarked on creating a modern, fun, yet still elegant nursery. From the outset, the challenge was keeping the orange from becoming too overwhelming. We used neutral blinds and painted some of the walls rather than wallpapering the whole room, which restrained the colors and patterns from becoming too dominant and created a calm yet wonderfully whimsical space.

Modern furniture such as the transparent Roh crib by Spot on Square and glider combine with more playful elements such as the monkey rug and tree bookcase to create a contemporary and airy space with a youthful feel.

An abstract mobile over the crib entertains the room’s inhabitant, and modern lighting adds sculptural elements to the room.

The animal theme is woven subtly into the room with a fun giraffe lamp and funky collage art by a young Spanish artist who interprets traditional nursery subject matter in innovative mediums and in a modern style, which will allow the room to grow with the child.

I love the monkey rug but when I go to the website, it doesn’t seem possible to order any of their products. I don’t get it!

The monkey wallpaper is so cute and cool. Seems like it’s only in orange. I hope they have it in other colors too.

It’s not really the monkeys that got to me. It’s the tree shelf!

Very nice nursery you have here. I love monkeys because they remind me of fun mischief.
