Vote: Room Project of the Month Finalists, June

It’s never too late to honor June’s Room Project of the Month! We’ve held back this contest until we could update some important technical mumbo-jumbo. Our one of a kind gallery highlights all the incredible projects our community has to share and we wouldn’t want our readers and designing parents to miss out. June’s Project Gallery uploads offered quite a bit of of retro flair. Are we seeing a trend here? What do you think readers? Your votes do count!

Gretchen Schuett’s is my favorite. With a baby that some day will become a child, then teen, this room will be very easy to transition into the next stages of life and still be cool. I also noticed, as a consumer, that these colors are trendy yet classic for years to come.

All of the nurseries are very creative but Sloan’s to me best captures lots of different details that are pulled together beautifully and fit an infant’s room that could grow into a child’s room. The yellow crib is bright and happy with a dandelion print bed skirt that not only matches the ceiling print, but also the maternity picture above the crib. The owls are subtle but also tied in throughout and seem to compliment well the swing shelves and the outdoor feel of the branches. Some of the other nurseries I think I would love for my own room! They are great and tied in well, but a lot of them seem “older” where this one, in my opinion, keeps the youthful feel that I think a nursery should have. Kudos to everyone though on beautiful work and vision! To each his own and it’s wonderful that all of these moms’ personalities shine through!

I agree with Lynn! Owls are so trendy right now and Sloan’s room does a subtle job of bringing them and all of the different patterns in. All of the rooms are great and inspiring in their own ways. This one is just the most fun and cheery.

I agree with Lynn & Heather, Sloan’s room is very cheerful and colorful and would have no problem transitioning into a child’s room…The creativity is outstanding and each piece seems to compliment the next…All the nurseries are very nice and it is obvious a lot of thought and hard work was put into them, however, Sloan’s room captures the essence of a beautiful nursery that will be conducive to a baby/child’s needs for years to come…

the best was how the tree branches from the ceiling brought outside in. Also liked the shelves which hang down from ceiling. they looked so light. and the oval mirror had such a relaxing , home feel to it

Sloan’s nursery is my fave. I love that they didn’t really stick to a strict theme and just went about it, ending up with elements that are a bit of anything and everything. And it turned out so beautifully!!!

    July 5, 2011

The rooms are all so beautiful, it’s so hard to vote for one. I had to narrow my favorites down to two. It was really a tie between Sloan’s and Jude’s. But I ended up voting for Sloan’s because it looks a lot brighter and more fit for a baby, while Jude’s room is darker and more grown-up.

  25. Kristi

    July 5, 2011

I voted for Jude’s nursery! It’s adorable, and totally different than any nursery I’ve ever seen–really original and I love all of the DIY elements! I also love that it’s a room that he can grow into–it isn’t too babyish, like most nurseries.

Jude’s vintage nursery has all the little touches that complete the fabulous look! And the fact that there is so much DIY and the use of “found” items makes it even more amazing! Ginny has put together a wonderful nursery that will transition well to a little boy’s room. Wish I had the talent and creativity that Ginny obviously does! Go “Jude’s Vintage Nursery!”
