I Scream, You Scream…

With the weather warming up everyday now, there is one favorite treat on everyone’s radar…..ICE CREAM!!  This simple birthday sweet no longer needs to be an accessory to birthday cake, it deserves a party all it’s own!

An ice cream party is a great summer birthday theme, but can also be used for a special playdate or neighborhood gathering.  So simple to plan, you just need a few cute items:

1. A darling invitation!  This colorful one from Tiny Prints is perfect, and gender neutral!

2. Colorful paper lanterns to hang from the trees!  Bold colors, and clusters of these festive decorations are sure to delight guests of all ages.

3. Festive ice cream bowls from Meri Meri are the PERFECT accessory for ice cream sundaes!  These polka dot and striped ones also help to create a super cute color palette!

4. SPRINKLES! Bowls and bowls of sprinkles will excite the kids and make your table look oh, so colorful!

5. No party would be complete without party favors!  Carry your theme throughout, and send your little guests home with ice cream cone-shaped crayons.

I was browsing through the site, looking for a good birthday party theme for my four-year-old princess, and voila! I just found a great one! I was already considering a Disney Princess theme or a butterfly theme, which I still think are too common birthday party themes for girls, and then I saw this post. Ice cream would be perfect for the weather here, and my daughter absolutely loves ice cream. Suddenly, I am excited instead of panicking. =D

Which kid doesn’t love ice cream? An ice cream birthday party would be wonderful. And I just saw pastel ice cream erasers at the mall which would make good party favors.
