Recently PN Contributor Kim posted pictures from a Mod Owl Nursery. It’s been a pleasure to see so many owls being incorporated into our Real Gallery. When I moved into my current home I wanted my office/craft space to be a room of inspiration and not just a work area. Former tenants had left behind an owl lawn ornament that made me smile every time I passed it. “What a great inspiration piece,” I thought. The owl was the perfect symbol, lending it’s wiseness to my work time and its whimsy to my creative time. Other DIY designers like myself must have thought the same as owls started popping up everywhere.
In Lincoln’s Owls & ABCs Nursery the designer combined her love for an ABC room she found on Project Nursery with the owl prints she craved from DwellStudio.
Walker’s Modern Owl Nursery is unique because it’s a blend modern and vintage. The warm browns and oranges which are seen in the accent pieces lend to the room’s folk art feel, but set against cool colors keeps it clean and modern. The designer also chose abstract pieces. Notice the acrylic art mimics the shape of an owl without being so literal.
Did a little birdie tell you someone special is expecting? Here’s an example of a Modern Owl Baby Shower where the designer also brought in the element of polka dots. True to owl nature, this pattern pairing allowed the woodland creature to quietly oversee the festivities in its peacefully understated way.
