Design Reveal: Young House Love Reveals Nursery

Oh, to be young and in love. Sherry and John Petersik are young, fun and in love…. with their first house. The Richmond, Virginia based couple moved into the 53 year old charmer back in 2006 and have spent all of their waking moments renovating, re-finishing and re-working every inch while documenting the entire process on their blog, Young House Love. They will soon have a new “baby” to love, a bouncing baby girl set to arrive in one month! Of course, being on the brink of parenthood has turned their focus to the nursery. The challenge was to transform a tiny space (8′ x 10.5′) into a soft and soothing room for their sweet girl. The finishing touches have been made on the breezy room complete with pear green walls, light aqua ceiling, capiz chandelier and a whole slew of DIY and thrift store finds! The result is dazzling.

Young House Love is chock-full of fun “before and after” photos, DIY projects, video clips and even a Design Advice section where the expert couple dole out advise a la Dr. Phil style. After spending a solid hour getting to know S and J by way of browsing their site, my husband started to worry. It was the obsessing over their darling backyard wedding that caused an official intervention. Don’t miss all the nursery details and take a tour of the entire house while you are at it. You are sure to get hooked just like me.

So many different things I like about this room, but I like how they brought together a variety of different pictures and made it work in a gallery display.
