When you find something you love why not use it as inspiration for a room’s decor? That’s just what mom Amy did when creating her daughter Avery’s nursery. Amy found a set of pillow shams online with a fun Japanese doll pattern. The fabric’s playfulness lead the way for a stunning cherry blossom mural filled with Japanese lanterns. Here are all the details on Avery’s lanterns in sky blue.
Child’s name: Avery
Age: 3
Location: Orlando, FL
What was your inspiration for the room?
I was inspired by the pillow shams I found at KuKuNest. After I had my inspiration I went online and found some other items to pull from. My muralist and I threw some ideas back and forth. I am extremely happy with the end results and most importantly my daughter LOVES her “blue room”, as she calls it.
What best describes your decorating style?
I love clean, crisp, and bright colors. I wanted my daughter to feel cozy and inspired by her room. I feel I accomplished that.
Please with us choice of paint colors, furniture, art, DIY tips, etc.
We used Sherwin Williams, Sky Blue. That color choice made the most sense for the look I was going for.
I really wanted white furniture, it added to my clean and crisp feeling. Found her bed at Pottery Barn Kids and the dresser and toy bin from Ikea. Found great art work to go with the room at Yellena.
What is your favorite item(s) in the room?
Oh geez, hard to pick. I love her mural. But all the items we have on the shelves having great meaning to us.
Is there anything else you would like PN readers to know?
