Design Reveal: Little Crown, Big Design

When it comes to designer nurseries the ladies behind Little Crown Interiors have really got it down! Their custom designed nurseries and children’s rooms are some of the best in the industry. It is a treat for Project Nursery to get an inside look at this beautiful and inspiring creation they completed for one-year old Cruz from Orange County, California.

Tell us a bit about your company. How long have you been in business? What made you decide to focus on Children’s design?
After collaborating on numerous nursery and juvenile projects, we (Naomi Coe & Gerri Panebianco) realized our shared excitement for innovative design and deep love for children. These common inspirations sparked the concept of our company, where we focus on designing the most luxurious, innovative, safe, and well-planned spaces imaginable – exclusively for babies and children. We started Little Crown Interiors in 2008 and have been loving every minute of it!

What was your inspiration for the room?
The absolutely amazing “Sputnik” chandelier.

What best describes your decorating style?
Retro-modern

Share with us choice of paint colors, furniture, art, diy tips, etc.
Nurseryworks glider in Citrus, Custom made crib on Nurseryworks Loom crib base, Custom made changing table and Serena & Lily rug.

What materials did you use for the name art above the crib? What was your inspiration for that particular piece?
The art above the crib was inspired by our client.  She found a wall covering that she loved from Sibu and asked us to use it in the room.  We decided to put it above the crib, cut out the middle and add her son’s name.  The blue molding helps secure it to the wall and give it a clean look.  The wall letters are from Kids Wood Works and we painted them to match the orange glider.

What is your favorite item(s) in the room?
The “Sputnik” chandelier!

This room is gorgeous, and the cushions on the end of the crib are a great idea. Though I’m a bit skeptical of the glass-topped table in a 1 year old’s room. It’s probably just for the photo shoot.

The color scheme really gives this nursery the WOW factor! I think it is actually a great color combo for those trying to make a room gender neutral too.
Another favorite idea in this room is the unique wall display…not just your typical letters.

I like the use of the “DNA” wall art. Is it Cruz’s?

I am in love with this room! Could you please tell us where the bedding it from?

Thank you for your wonderful comments! The bedding was custom made. The fabric was from Free Spirit Fabrics and we had it sewn into a bumper.

The DNA artwork is actually the 2 parents’ DNA, one next to the other….very sweet!

    Thank you all!

    Hello,
The lovely window treatments were custom made, but I have seen some that are similar by Serena & Lily or Restoration Hardware Baby & Child.

Thanks for all the wonderful comments!

    Erika-
That giraffe painting was found by our client on vacation. She told us it was being done by a street vendor and she just fell in love. We pulled the aqua colors throughout the room from that piece.

Thank you for viewing our space!

It depends on the way you look at it and where that you’re coming from on the topic really. Ultimately beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I am with you on this one.
