For Claire’s nursery we chose the color scheme of yellow and gray. To steer clear of too much pink, we chose an aqua for her walls. I wanted to incorporate as many handmade items as we could. I am so grateful for my husband’s love of furniture building and am so happy with how the bookcase and window seat he built turned out. I am sure Claire will appreciate the hard work he put into making these pieces just for her . He also added crown molding to the room, which I believe makes the room look much more feminine! My mother in law is a sewing queen! She was able to make many pieces for Claire’s nursery, as well as her cradle bedding (not pictured). I’m not as crafty as my other half (and his family), but I did manage to create the wreath we hung on Claire’s door. It was one of the few handmade items I made while nesting!
This room was once our den converted into a guest room. It was dark and cozy with red walls. It will still once in a while need to serve as a guest room, but it is now the nursery for our baby boy :) The problem with a den is that is has no closet, hence two dressers. It is still missing crown molding, but not sure if we can actually make it happen before the arrival :)
I wanted to do something suitable for a little boy without being too “babyish”. I thought a vintage railroad theme would be PERFECT because it can transition well into a toddler room. Besides, what little boy doesn’t love trains?!?
Grey and yellow nursery, cozy and inviting. Elephants started to become a little bit of a theme after I found grey and yellow elephant artwork.
This was a fun project to work on. I enjoyed putting everything together for our third and last child. I wanted a safari theme nursery with a modern twist that will eventually grow with my son.
I wanted to create a peaceful space for the nursery. I tried to stick to my accent colors to create a space that is a good marriage of traditional & modern.
We wished to blend our easy modern style with an eclectic, vintage twist when designing our baby’s nursery. What we arrived at was an assemblage of vintage and modern elements with lots of personalized touches and family mementos, including hand-made knit blankets, hand-painted birch trees and stripes on walls, vintage furniture, and a “family tree” comprised of old photos of relatives as children.
We wanted a space that was feminine and sweet but not your typical “princess” look for our little girl. Using white, yellow and gray as our main colors gave us exactly the look we were going for. We also wanted to incorporate personal aspects and details from our families to make it a truly unique space.
Yellow and Gray Chic Nursery
Gray and Yellow neutral themed baby shower!
I wanted to decorate the nursery in Yellow, Gray, White and Apple Green… this was challenging to say the least but I am thrilled with the way it turned out. I used a light gray paint on the walls, white furniture and yellow and green accents.
I created this modern nursery for my first son, due to arrive any day now!
