Knox’s Modern Forest Nursery

When we found out we were having our second boy, I immediately started doing searches for nursery theme ideas. I had already done a safari themed nursery for my oldest that I loved and wanted our new baby to have something special of his own. For both boys, the idea was to get furniture that would grow with them and a design that could be tweaked as they moved into toddlers without redoing the whole space. I decided on a “modern forest” theme for Knox. I wanted something that felt clean and peaceful, but also inviting with touches of playfulness. I love the look of a black and white nursery, and chose to add touches of cognac and forest green for some warmth. After putting together an inspiration board, I started looking for pieces that I felt went with the theme. There aren’t a lot of places to shop in person where I live, so I did most of my shopping online. I decided on the main furniture first and then filled in the accent pieces and décor after that. Having the big stuff in the room helped me feel out where things should go and what the space still needed. It took a few tries and exchanging things in and out, but I love the end result and hope Knox will too!

Woodlands Themed Playroom

I wanted to make this portion of the playroom a little more masculine and the downstairs area more feminine in case we had a girl later down the road. The teepee and table/chairs are RH baby & child. The pillows are nordstroms. The art is etsy, petite collage, land of nod and oopsy daisy. The rug and archery garland is land of nod and one of my favorite pieces in the room. I’m really happy with how this room came out and my kids love reading books and playing in here.
