I wanted to create a dreamy and soothing space inspired by the sea.
The nursery for our soon-to-arrive baby William
I wanted to create a bright and happy nursery for my daughter. After designing my wedding I was inspired by the colors coral and teal and decided to add yellow for a fresh feel.
Abe is our fourth baby, so we were out of extra bedrooms. The nursery is actually one end of our oversized master bedroom, separated with curtains hung from the ceiling. I wanted the nursery to coordinate well with the other half of the room but still be fun and colorful for a baby.

We wanted to create a room that Reed could grow into that wasn’t too baby-ish.
My husband and I are marine biologists, so a nautical nursery was a no-brainer for us! I wanted white furniture with blue walls, and loved the bright green accents!

A beluga whale themed nursery for a baby boy.
We had a (modern) whale theme. I first found a Gap whale sweater, then a Polen O Pyret tee shirt and then a sailor hat on diapers.com. Banner, invites, thank yous, signs, cake, cupcakes – all handmade. I made mini whale tail cupcakes as favors, along with a blue candy bar, blue macarons & blue/dark chocolate covered pretzels. I had blue Jello centerpieces with plastic whales and shells in them. The crowning achievement for me was my cake!
