I wanted Rylynn’s nursery to be totally unique. I’m not so into “themes” and I really loved putting the room together piece by piece. I wanted it to be bright and colorful and a room that I would enjoy spending time in. My husband came up with the design for the crib and built it, and my family came down for a weekend and painted the room and furniture in a single day. I love that my family had a hand in creating my dream nursery, it makes it that much more special for my daughter. I really love how it turned out and can’t wait for my baby girl to get here so we can hang out in here together!
Sallie Rose recently had a little sister; therefore, she got to upgrade to a “big girl” room so her sister, Lulie, could have the nursery. We tried to create a room that could grow with her for a few years. We chose a very light grey/silver color for the walls and we added a pop of color with the bed frame, night stand, chandelier and bedding. All of thsee items can be easily interchangeable as her opinion for her own room changes. Our budget was very small considering we had a new baby on the way, so we found objects in our house to reuse or we bought things on sale and at antique stores.
I wanted to stay away from a typical themed nursery if possible and create a bright nursery. Once I decided on my colors everything else just fell in to place!
A bright and colorful nursery for a happy little girl. Bright, patterned fabrics are used to add the color into the nursery that has a decent amount of white on the walls with the board and batten. Birds and bird houses found their way into the theme and are sprinkled throughout the room.
