This ocean inspired nursery is a combination of splurges, bargains, garage sale finds and a DIY project or two.
After we moved into our house just over a year ago, our little Monkey’s room was an after thought. This summer I finally took the time to design a room that is not only more functional, but also a better reflection of his personality.
A 60-70s themed room. Cozy, colorful, and custom.
This project had a strict budget so most of the items were DIY. I did not want her nursery to have a theme, because I am always changing things! The room was small so I tried not to go overboard with a lot of different colors and focused on small details for character. I hope it is a room she grows up to love! :)
The nursery is painted a buttery yellow and the style is classic and preppy – boyish but not babyish. Colors are plaids, stripes and other patterns in primary shades of blue, red, yellow, and green, along with white. The overall design aesthetic is one of discovery, exploration, and curiosity. The main furnishings are dark mahogany and cherry, with wall accents in driftwood/barnwood gray.
We repainted our walls and trim, repainted an old dresser, built a bookcase, purchased a rug/curtains/crib and filled our space with bright colors.
Modern, Clean and Simple. I’m sure we will accumulate a ton of things the next few months so I wanted to keep the room simple with the necessities and build from there.
We went for a modern nature/bird/tree theme for our son. We chose bright colors that would grow with him and stimulate him.
A black/white/pink nursery with a touch of polka dots and primary colors.
I wanted a modern, fun, memorable nursery that would grow with my son. I tried rearranging the furniture so many times! Finally, I found the best placement that allows room to play and showcases all of London’s toys and furniture.
This is my daughter, Gianna’s nursery. I knew exactly what I wanted it to look like….Very girly, slightly modern and nothing babyish.
Daisy Garden theme. Flowers, butterflies, and paisleys. Bright and bold. Full of life and growth. Was all ideas for my daughter’s room. I wanted a homemade look and with in my budget.
I am trying to make her room more toddler rather than baby. Any comments and suggestions are highly recommended!!
Welcome to our little lady’s calm, soothing nursery.
For my baby girl we selected the Liberty of London line from Target for our inspiration. The fun colors and beautiful flower patterns are something that she can grow into. I am not a big fan of anything too “babyish” or too frilly. I love how the nursery came out.
