Tatum’s Nursery
I wanted to create a bright and happy nursery for my daughter. After designing my wedding I was inspired by the colors coral and teal and decided to add yellow for a fresh feel.

My daughter Emerald loves the Little Mermaid and Nemo. As an Event Designer I wanted to create the underwater world that she loved for her 3rd birthday party, but with a unique twist and sophisticated decor elements. Keeping the color palette pretty narrow, blues, greens, with white would be the key to the elegance of the party. The focal points are Dessert Table and Kid’s table.
The sailing/nautical theme came together after buying the first item (the poop deck plaque). There was no overall vision for this room, we just started and kept rolling with it. I googled “nautical nursery” and really liked the thick bold stripes I saw in other rooms. It took us forever to decide on how many stripes, how thick, how far apart etc..but once we started the first wall looked great. The second wall was another story. We realized the entire ceiling was not level and one side was about and inch and a half taller than the other, making the stripes look crooked. Another hour of thinking, measuring and re-taping and we figured it out. We used frog tape but when we pulled it off our worst nightmare was realized…it bled through every where. Nothing 6 hours worth of touching up with a tiny brush couldn’t fix :(
In the end my husband and I are very happy with the way the room turned out…but we will NEVER paint stripes again!
Our little mermaid is turning two and we celebrated under the sea style!
An intimate birthday gathering to celebrate Brianna turning 9 and Olivia turning 2!
We are expecting our first born son this upcoming fall! After finding out we were having a boy, I knew immediately I wanted to go with a nautical theme. I wanted to create a room that felt both preppy and contemporary.
To be honest I thought I was having a boy so my ideas for the nursery was nautical, blue and boats. With the news of having a girl I had to start from scratch. I am not into the tradional pink rooms but I still wanted it to be girly. Since my husband and I love the ocean, I went with an ocean theme keeping in mind sand and shells to use as the color palette for our baby girls room.
This is the nursery we designed for our son.
Sandy Walker and Kelsey Walker of In Awe Weddings and events planned this baby shower for a close family friend, Stephanie. It was held at Troon Country Club. We had beach-themed buffet including hamburgers and hot dogs.
We’re frequently asked by our clients to create a nursery with beach-inspired elements—we chalk it up to our sunny Southern California location. We recently designed this beach-themed boy’s nursery for a client in Orange County, CA, filled with unique and highly customized elements.
Soothing, yet whimisical beach theme great for boy or girl
