Vintage Cottage Nursery
We added DIY wainscoting to give a cottage feel. We went with a gender neutral pallet before we knew the sex of the baby. The walls are painted moonshine by Benjamin Moore.

A woodland themed small, neutral space.
We created Evelyn’s nursery not knowing if she would be a boy or girl! Therefore the color pallet is very neutral, bright and cheery. The room is an odd L-shape and quite tiny so it definitely presented it’s challenges.
This project had a strict budget so most of the items were DIY. I did not want her nursery to have a theme, because I am always changing things! The room was small so I tried not to go overboard with a lot of different colors and focused on small details for character. I hope it is a room she grows up to love! :)
I was looking to create a calming nursery that was girly but not in the traditional sense. As much fun as pink can be, I really wanted a room that was inspired by the outdoors. This room is very small ( 8×9 ) so I had to find furniture that wouldn’t overwhelm the room. The cib is actually a mini-crib.
A black/white/pink nursery with a touch of polka dots and primary colors.
We were using this empty upstairs bedroom as a workout room and had done absolutely NOTHING with it since we bought our home 4 years ago. When we found out we were expecting our first child, we wanted to make it a very special space for our baby to grow into. My husband and I worked for 3 months measuring, sawing, painting, and planning and I think we did a great job for carpentry novices! The room is a very small 11×11 so we wanted to add a lot of storage space and make it bright and airy. The closet was fairly deep, but not very big overall. When we took the doors off to paint, we found that it really opened the room up, so we decided to leave the doors off and design a built in wardrobe in the space instead. Additionally, we added panel style wainscoting and a built in storage bench on a wall that wasn’t very usable. When we found out we were having a little boy, we decided on a vintage airplane theme and classic colors. We absolutely adore this room and hope you do too!
Simple yet sweet. Forest animal bedding with a tree mural.
My son’s name is Jett so I wanted to create an airplane themed room. You can see more at my blog. http://6thstreetdesignschool.blogspot.com/2010/01/jetts-room.html
Ah, the city life. There’s nothing quite like it. However space in the city often comes with it’s limitations. After many wonderful years in NYC, both Pam and I can very much appreciate the creativity that goes into decorating small spaces. Theo’s Mom Amanda and Grandmother pulled together a delightful, contemporary, clutter-free nursery. Their special touches and smart storage/shelving solution, make for plenty of room for baby!
