Purple and Green Nursery

I wanted the room to be pretty, but playful. I knew I would be spending lots of time in the nursery, so I wanted it to be a room I would enjoy – it quickly became my favorite room in the house! There is a lot of lavender in nursery decor, but very little purple! When I found the purple sheets with the white elephants from Land of Nod I quickly grabbed them. Then the elephant theme came to life. My father-in-law and my husband painted the green stripes, which I knew I wanted from the very beginning. I found the purple ruffle curtains and various purple, green and elephant items along the way. But even with all the fun items I compiled for the room, something was needed to pull it all together. That’s where Grandma came in with the gift of a custom made quilt, which incorporated both the purples and greens and completed the nursery.

Rylynn’s Nursery

I wanted Rylynn’s nursery to be totally unique. I’m not so into “themes” and I really loved putting the room together piece by piece. I wanted it to be bright and colorful and a room that I would enjoy spending time in. My husband came up with the design for the crib and built it, and my family came down for a weekend and painted the room and furniture in a single day. I love that my family had a hand in creating my dream nursery, it makes it that much more special for my daughter. I really love how it turned out and can’t wait for my baby girl to get here so we can hang out in here together!

Sienna’s Vintage Inspired Nursery

For Sienna’s space, I wanted to do something you didn’t really see in nurseries and painted floors was just that. The perfect shade of mint with some white and coral stripes…I decided to DIY many elements in the room seeing we were on a budget. A coral ruffled lamp shade, a doily feature wall for that extra touch of girly, a  embroidery hoop bow mobile, fake book jackets to match the nursery colors and some original artwork.
