Ezra’s Era
A 60-70s themed room. Cozy, colorful, and custom.
A 60-70s themed room. Cozy, colorful, and custom.
This nursery was designed and decorated not knowing the gender of our baby. We used various shades of grey with splashes of bright yellow to make the room lively and inviting.
– Birds/polka dots themed.
– White, pink and chocolate color palette.
Despite me being a quilter and my mother owning a fabric store, I couldn’t for the life of me find anything I liked (or could afford). That was until I saw the “Little Kukla” line from Suzy Ultman. . . . **swoon** I am such a nerd, I actually wrote her a letter proclaiming my ultimate fan status to her work. She never responded. Hahahah.
After 2 boys, it was a no brainer to accent the nursery in pink. We didn’t want to paint the room again… but it looks great with the teal and pink. I think having the walls green really compliments all the pink accessories. It was so much fun hunting my favorite stores for feminine pieces… all the furniture in the nursery was less than $500! I wanted Brooke’s bedding to be different, so I sent the fabric to my Aunt Jan, and she sewed the quilt, pillows and even a baby doll quilt. To save on cost, I purchased the silk and made the curtains and rest of the bedding. I love the Winbourg Sisters artwork, and painted the piece above the antique dresser to accent the blues in the room and we hung cute butterfly mobiles and a tree branch from the sky painted on the ceiling. The last hand-painted pieces was the ceiling medallion that we bought from Lowe’s for less than $20. What I love about Brooke’s nursery is the serene feeling and it looks like a very expensive nursery, but was done on a small budget! You can do it too!
I combined the ‘english’ feel with sentimental retro pieces including his grandfather’s train set, my Sesame Street encyclopedias and his father’s toy digger and of course an Oscar bed!
We didn’t find out the gender of our baby, so I wanted to do something gender neutral, but colorful and fun.
Eclectic, Feminine, Relaxing – Aqua, Tan, Pinks, White, Yellow – lots of color mixing.
This nursery is for our upcoming “Baby Sister,” as we call her. Our 2 year old little girl used this room as her nursery and we recently moved her to a big girl room. We kept the wall color the same plus kept a few of the furniture pieces but reworked the colors and fabrics.
Bright, contemporary and fun was our goal! We wanted to include a little but of “London” as well as “travel themed” elements throughout the room. Lots of love went into every piece of this nursery, we love the final project!
C is for Copeland! His nursery is a colorful, creative, cozy, Craigslist furnished, chalkboard walled compilation of new and old pieces that form a great room for sleep and play.
Mila’s nursery is a mixture of vintage and modern. We combined old finds with new products to create a comfortable, storybook nursery.
My husband and I wanted a whimsical/animal themed nursery for our first baby. We love birds and are avid bird watchers. Our wedding was bird and nature themed. So when I found the Owl fabric on Fabric.com, I was in love and envisioned Rosalie’s nursery. The whole nursery was DIY, Project Nursery and Pinterest inspired. I wanted it to be personal and not trendy but unique!
*** English is not my language so I apologize for all mistakes I probably made in the next few lines! Since I learn I was expecting a girl, I’ve been slowly working on her nursery. I wanted something girly but simple. I like bird and the father likes owl and fawn so I tried to mix our taste!
I wanted a nuetral baby room since we are not finding out the sex of “Baby P”. I wanted it to be warm, inviting, and cozy.
We did a sock monkey and soccer themed room.
When we found out we were having a girl, I knew I didn’t want a super feminine room. I’m a big fan of modern design and “frilly” isn’t my style. I liked the idea of including a lot of color in her room, so I chose to focus on orange, pink and red. My mom and I DIY’d almost everything in the room – it was a labor of love and I’m thrilled with how it turned out!
My daughter’s colorful room. Too bad she refuses to sleep there. I guess you don’t always know these things before hand! :-P
Modern Farmhouse
My first daughter’s room was a joy to create, I still love everything about it a year later, and am looking forward to making room in it for her baby sister!
