Marlyn’s Princess Nursery

Every single mom gets crazy about her first child, and this exactly what happened as soon as i found out it was a girl.It has always been my dream to have a little girl, and it finally came true. I always wanted to create her a princess nursery, and thats how it all started, I saw the wallpaper by Christian Lacroix and i fell in love with it, the texture was so elegant it looks like lace on the walls. It became my inspiration for the rest of the room. Since it was white and silver, I needed to add the pink to it because every little girl needs a pink room! and thats how I started looking for fabrics, everything you see in the room from curtains, bedding, pillows, bumpers was custom made with fabrics that I specially choose. From then on it was just building the ceiling with the flower, choosing accessories, and putting everything together. At the same time I also fell in love with the acrylic crib, I wanted a modern room with a royal touch, thats why I combined the acrylic crib with other acrylic accessories with the elegant paper and fabrics. I loved the final project, the way everything came out together it really feels like a royal nursery, I hope you guys enjoy it to!

The American Princess Nursery for Baby C

When we found out we were having a girl, I could not wait to get to work on creating a feminine and vintage, yet eclectic princess space. Metallics, hearts, and mixed textures were my inspiration as I set to work on Baby Charlote’s nursery. We had a small room to work with, so though I wanted to scoop up everything pink, gold, and sparkly I could find- I had to limit myself. I tried to maximize the space with DIY bookshelves, spray painted re-purposed storage and an IKEA-hacked customized closet. Though I splurged on a few things (bed skirt, rocker), I tried to lower the budget by creating my own garland, repurposed mirror, and some fun, cheap bins. Lastly, it was important that Charlie’s nursery had flairs of her namesake, her great-grandmother, in the room. WIth a sparkly C pillow and a mobile that plays “you are my sunshine” (her great-grandmother’s favorite lullaby), her great-grandmother’s presence cannot be missed.

Princess Nursery in Lavender with Glitter Wall

This lavender princess nursery is truly regal with a custom glitter wall as the focal point. Sweet lavender accents on creamy white silk add just enough color to this custom girl’s nursery fit for royalty. Creamy velvet nursery glider and ottoman set feature a fun fringe accent around the skirting. The custom six-arm nursery chandelier glistens with crystals and the feathered chandelier shades and lamp shades add a fun touch of whimsy to this lucky baby girl’s nursery. Notice the huge crystal finials on the custom curtain rod…they pick up the lighting and really sparkle! The beautiful distressed gray crib features an upholstered headboard and footboard in sweet gray linen, adding a soft French Country touch to this elegant nursery. Princess Inspired Nursery

In designing this Princess Nursery, we wanted to create a sophisticated take on a traditional nursery, a room that would be able to carry her from infancy through childhood.  Instead of choosing a theme or going very pink, we selected timeless pieces that will evolve both functionally and aesthetically over time.    For example, her parents will read to her on the rocker as a toddler but, as she gets older, it will become her chair to talk on the phone to girlfriends (and boyfriends).  We love the classic pattern and color palate of the crib panels, which can be re-purposed as a duvet cover or pillows on her grown-up bed.

She’s a Big Girl Now Princess Room

Every girl wants a princess room. They are only children for a little while, so why not give them a room that they love to show off to everyone who visits. Let their imagination run free, they will be faced with the bieges and greys , browns of everyday life soon enough. My theory is “Give them color” ” Inspire them to love color and art” Psycologists who study the effect of color in children’s and infants rooms have found that pinks in particular tend to sooth a child as does soft blues. While neutral colors seem to have little effect one way or another. My favorite part of this room is the book shelf because reading is so important in a child’s life and the castle cutouts because dreams are just as important.
