Baby Girl Ocean Nursery

We LOVE the ocean and knew we wanted to do some kind of nautical nursery, regardless of our baby’s gender. When we found out we were having a girl, we were surprised at how hard it was to find gender neutral or girl items to decorate with. We chose pink and turquoise to anchor (pun intended) the space with little nods to the sea like the paddle, anchor hooks, rope mirror, woven pouf, and clothing dividers. We also swapped out the hardware on the change table to boat cleats and choose the Nook mattress in Glass color both for safety and because the “pebbles” look like bubbles.
We love the result – just enough of a theme to pull the room together but not too much that things look out of place if they aren’t ocean themed. Our girl Tia loves it!

Modern Soft Boho Nursery

I designed this modern, soft boho nursery for my client expecting her 3rd child and first girl! She wanted a wall of wallpaper in a subtle design to bring in color to the room. So we found this beautiful pastel pink speckle removable wallpaper from Livette’s Wallpaper. This inspired the direction for the color palette. We went with all white for the crib and changing table/dresser for a modern feel. We layered in pattern with this soft printed crib sheet from Crate and Barrel and fun shaped metal and wood mobile. The wall decor is simple. Framed prints mixed with a cute peg board for organization. Overall the look and feel is cozy, simple but fun. My client loved the final reveal.

Boho Girl Nursery

I was first inspired when I saw the Sandie Mural wallpaper from Anewall. It looked like sort of an abstract sunset to me and I love the muted blush, peach and yellow tones. My mom (who passed away when I was young) loved sunsets and they’ve always reminded me of her and made me feel close to her, so that felt right too. I also wanted to sprinkle in some rainbows since our sweet girl is our triple rainbow baby, and I thought that would go well with this vibe. I then got a crazy idea to put the wallpaper on the ceiling instead of on a wall. I fell in love with the Fela Tassel Chandelier from Anthropologie to pull in the boho vibes and the rest of the nursery centered around the ceiling as the focal point. I already had the blush pink dresser that I refinished a few years ago (painted Sherwin Williams White Dogwood) so I decided to paint the wall opposite the dresser (that the Jenny Lind crib would be on) that same blush pink. I already had the grey rocker (Amazon) from my first baby as well. I then pulled in more boho vibes with accent pieces – dried floral wreaths from @modsugardesign on Etsy, mirror from Anthropologie, curtains from Nordstrom, rug from Rugs.com and bookshelves from Amazon. The beautiful clay wall hanging was handmade by my friend @century_clay and was the first item I got for my baby girl.
Installing the peel and stick wallpaper on the ceiling was a little tricker than putting it on a wall, because gravity is working against you instead of with you. You definitely need a second person to help hold it as you put it up. It took my husband and I about 3 hours when I was 2 weeks postpartum, so it’s still not a huge project. I have done several installations of this wallpaper on walls previously though.
Tips for decorating on a budget: I purchased the Anthropologie items during 30-40% off sales. I got the crib and dresser second-hand, and purchased more affordable accent pieces. I generally choose 1 or 2 focal items (in this case the wallpaper on the ceiling and the chandelier) that I splurge a little on and then save on the other supporting pieces.
I’m so in love with how the nursery turned out! I love staring up at the ceiling as I’m sitting in the rocker feeding her. It brings a smile to my face every time I’m in there, and I hope it will for my daughter as well.

Casa di Izzy

When I found out I was having a girl I immediately turned to Pinterest to gain inspiration for the nursery. I wanted the room to be girly and elegant which is why I chose a color palette of blush, mauve and gold. The custom ceiling wallpaper is my favorite feature- a timeless design I hope my daughter will continue to love as she gets older. My advice for future moms is research, research, research and never be afraid to add a little pink ;)

Girls Nursery: Light & Airy Woodland Theme

Originally aiming for a gender neutral theme, I couldn’t help but throw several feminine touches to my daughter’s nursery. After gathering “girls woodland theme nursery” inspirations from Pinterest, my first purchase for her room was the Crate & Barrel Little Fawn Baby Quilt. I used the quilt to guide my vision for the entire room. I purchased and printed the adorable baby animals above her crib from The Crown Prints, and selected ones with flower crowns to keep the theme going from the quilt. I incorporated the soft pink trim from the quilt throughout the room with the mobile, storage baskets, throw pillow and blanket. There are a few gold/brass splashes on the quilt, so I decided to go with all gold/brass finish hardware–including the closet door knobs, picture frames, curtain rods, end table, lamp and mirror–which added a fun pop to the room.
Gender neutral? I think this nursery has potential for an easy swap of soft pinks and flowers to deep blues/greens and more of that woodland feel I was originally looking into!

A Sweet Blush Nursery for Baby Cameron

Allison Jenks of the Pink Lou Lou Blog wanted a classic, serene, feminine nursery space for her baby girl.  We think she accomplished that and more.  We are in love with baby Cameron’s light and airy blush nursery!  The soft color palette gives this beautiful nursery a dreamy look.
Soft shades of pink and off white set the stage for a glamorous nursery for a baby girl!  The color palette for the room is creamy whites and blush tones.  The gold accents add warmth and sophistication to the room.  Allison chose our popular MacKenlee Faire Blush Pink Nursery Bedding Collection which features a luxurious washed white linen ruffle crib skirt and 100% premium cotton soft pink crib sheet.

Isla’s Modern Boho Nursery

This was a project I was super passionate about. I knew right away what I wanted the space to look like, I wanted a modern boho-chic feel. Isla’s nursery is a layering of soft textures, clean-lined furniture, and feminine colors that create a modern bohemian retreat. I searched the internet high and low, and even Pinterest but didn’t find a whole lot of ideas out there. There are still some key pieces that I haven’t found yet. Like the rug or curtains. But for the most part the room feels complete for now. Those other pieces will come eventually. My biggest advice for moms is to purchase items you truly love and are versatile with the space. The glider we purchased from pottery barn kids, it  was a must have! It’s perfect for those late night feedings; and a mix of style and comfort. I tried so many different chairs but this one was by far my favorite. The quality is great and will last for years to come. The other key piece to any nursery is of course…the crib! When I set my eyes on this one: I thought it would be the perfect piece. I love that you can see baby from all angles and baby could also see you clearly without the bars blocking either of our views.  It really gave the nursery a modern feel. I added in elephants here and there throughout the room. I went with elephants only because they’re my favorite animal! 🐘 For the crib bedding I went with the organic west elm x pbk sheets. I have a few different prints. I’m obsessed with all of the really fun prints at Pottery Barn Kids. My favorite piece of the room would have to be the wall hanging. It really sets the tone for Boho-ness. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed the nursery reveal!

A Pink & Gold Nursery for Baby Everly!

This sweet nursery was designed by Nicole Blattner for her baby girl, Everly.  We can’t seem to decide on our favorite part of the room, but the gold name plaque and assorted wall flowers are stunning, and are a perfect focal point for the nursery.  Featured on the simple white crib is our Pink & Gold Baby Bedding Collection, a popular crib set for a baby girl’s nursery.  The gold polka dot crib sheet and 3 layered crib skirt gives the nursery bedding a feminine feel.  The white crib rail cover is accented with pink ruffle, gold ties, and monogrammed with Everly’s initials.  Because the front crib rail is wider than most, we customized the rail cover to fit by making it slightly wider.  The sweet corner shelves are perfect for mementos and keepsakes.  We made the custom pink and gold curtains to Nicole’s specifications with gold polka dot panels trimmed with layers of pink ruffles.

Millennial Pink Nursery

This is the nursery of the newest member of our family, sweet Logan Olivia. I’ve never been a huge fan of pink, but this being my second daughter, it has definitely grown on me.  The trend I can really get on board with is this new “millennial pink” color, which isn’t pop-barbie-princess, but rather a happy, fun, pale version of the girly favorite. I chose “Just Peachy” by Benjamin Moore for the wall color above the picture rail and we added a few vintage character pieces to compliment the clean lines and sharp white and black accents in the room. The changing table was once my great-grandmother’s tea cart. We gave it a fresh coat of paint and some new cabinet knobs and the result was just adorable.  The perfectly-scaled bookshelves were also yard sale find.
See whole project on my blog post.

Sweet Blush Pink Nursery

Light, calming, with a touch of vintage; that’s what I was aiming for in this nursery. I never considered myself a pink kind of gal until we found out we were having a baby girl and I suddenly found myself drawn to all things pink; blush pink to be exact! The room inspiration came from a nursery I once spotted in Country Living. I love that this space is a combination of new and old with a few DIY pieces scattered throughout (like the no-sew drop cloth crib skirt). I’m so pleased with how it turned out! Elina’s Pretty in Pink Nursery

In the Bengali culture, some believe that its bad luck to buy things for the baby before its born. So I had to start on this nursery project after the little miss Elina’s arrival. As a first time mother little did I know that it was going to be next to impossible to get anything done with a new born around! After five months of painting walls, redoing the closets, picking out furniture and accessories, the baby room was complete! It was priceless looking at a completed baby room that took a lot of personalities to bring together.
I wanted her nursery to be a peaceful place, designed for ease of use and comfort. Every little accessory had a personal meaning to me– from the majestic swan , to the wonder woman and the personalized little wall arts.

A Petal Pink Nursery for Summertime Arrival

An expecting mother was eager to get her daughter’s nursery complete before her summer arrival! Unsure of where to start, this expectant mom called on me to transform the room with less than 4 months to go. Along with a modest budget, I was able to transform this unused space with a fresh Petal Pink color for the walls and which blackout curtains to graze the window sill. Sturdy furnishings that can transition to toddler beds and beyond and removable changing station atop the dresser make the furnishings one this baby girl can grow up with. All the while keeping in mind plenty of play space to crawl around, a spot for mommy-and-me feeding time, and soothing lighting throughout make this room a perfect set up for a new baby girl.

Punch of Pink Nursery

I designed this nursery for a sweet client of mine who had contacted me after finding me on Pinterest and loved my “Blossom” nursery. I really wanted the rug in this space to stand out and then allow all the other pieces in the room just to complement the rug. If you also choose to have a stand-out rug, make sure that you balance the other pieces in the room to work with it and not compete against it.

Neutral Nursery with Girly Details

This project was designed to little baby Maria, before she was even born. Her mum, S. always liked the neutral based nurseries with girly details. That was the way we started. The choice of a textured grey wallpaper, allowed us to use everything we wanted in the decor. Therefore, we played with pink details, in the monograms (wall and crib), as well as the fabrics. Another important goal, was to make a room which could grows with her.
What we love the most about this project are the personalized details, like the embroidered monogram in the crib bedding. Also, we believe it shows that when you choose neutral tones for wall and furniture, you can easily change it from a girl to a boy bedroom.

Lucy’s Barely Pink Nursery

We wanted to create a soft and serene nursery for our daughter. We are not huge fans of the color pink but wanted to still make her room feel girly. The wall color, which I always describe as “barely pink,” did just that. The color is a shade of white with warm undertones but looks pink against the pure white board and batten. The board and batten was a DIY project that creates an elegant and classic feel. A mix of classic and modern details puts the finishing touches on this room.

Sutton Faye’s Art-Inspired Modern Nursery

When we found out we were having a girl, I was beyond excited and thrilled to start putting her nursery together. As a design lover and artist, I love to make spaces beautiful and unique, gathering special pieces that create a sense of wonder and inspires creativeness when in them! Since we were having a girl I wanted to design a eclectic, modern, and artful nursery that my daughter can come home to! A space that she can grow up learning and experiencing color, patterns, and new things! I knew starting off I wanted to find the perfect material for her bedding that was girly and modern, not too “baby”. Then my next step would be to paint her abstract painting that would turn out to be so special and painted with such love that she will treasure it forever. I received a gift from a special friend (we consider family) that inspired me in so many ways! This Picasso “Pages from a notebook” Studies of Woman and Child is one of the main elements of Sutton’s room! I love that her art is unique and special! With hard work, love and support from my husband and special gifts from family and friends, the details came together at the end to form this unique, artful nursery that we can not wait to bring our baby girl home to!

Pink Delight Nursery

I wanted to keep her nursery light fresh and airy.  By keeping the paint really soft with ‘ Pure Pink’ by Dulux.  Adding wainscotting for some visual interest and soft star wall decals for that extra something,   Incorporating light weight fabrics with contrast of rustic accents. Starting with the bones of the room and working yourself up with furniture and accessories.

Girly Pink Nursery

Description from mother:
I guess just after having a boy for 5 years, I was ready for some pink in my life. I wanted her room to be soft and feminine. I love Disney and the princess fairy tale vibe, so I wanted to add a touch of a regal feeling in her room. That’s why I decided to on the crib crown. She is truly the princess in our house, and I wanted a big statement piece to show it. In the end I really wanted a classic and timeless girls nursery. Something she can look back at and not really date, because it wasn’t a trend or a fade. What’s special to us, hum, her handprints and her picture above her crib. Anything that captures those special little tiny moments that we will never get back. My life just needed a little girl in in.
