Fresh English Garden Nursery

This room is mostly a collection of things that we found secondhand. I found the bed on Craigslist before we were really ready to start putting the room together, but I couldn’t pass it by. We had decided adding a twin bed to the nursery would allow us  sleep in the room with baby if we needed to, or just a place for guests. Both dressers are vintage and chalk painted by me. The changing station tucked into the closet was the boys, I found it at a yard sale years ago. Bedding is all from craigslist and ebay. The crib is new from IKEA. As we are adopting, the crib had to pass strict home study rules. I fell in love with the Coco Dot nursery line from Pottery Barn..and the coordinating BonBon from Pottery Barn Teen. I mixed them up a bit with the BabyBlooms sheets, I love how the floral coordinated perfect with the ribbon colors and my canvas print. The Beatrix Potter items are from my oldest son’s nursery and some are vintage Eden toys…

Noora’s Nursery

I wanted to create a serene and elegant nursery for Noora that highlighted the things that matter most to us: reading and discovery, family and friends, and our Arab heritage.  I chose a soft color palette of light grey walls, white furniture, and accents of pink, blue and beige.  The theme is both soft/floral and storybook-based.  The nursery is full of personal touches and gifts including a couple of DIY projects, a framed cross-stitch from my sister, many books that are gifts from close friends and family, a cute Arabic alphabet poster to remind Noora of the joys of reading and her heritage and a knit sweater from grandma.
