Harlow’s Vintage Glam Nursery

I have always dreamed of the day I’d be able to design a baby girl nursery. Honestly, I never thought I would actually see that day, so when we found out Harlow was a girl, my heart fluttered with the thought of creating the perfect nursery for her. My Pinterest board exploded with oodles of inspo pics and I knew from the beginning that I wanted a statement wall… one that would be a total swoon factor when you walked in… so that is where I started and the rest kind of flowed in from there, piece by piece. I mixed in lots of texture and pulled colors from the vintage floral wallpaper. I also made sure to incorporate pieces that would remind me of my grandma, who gained her angel wings while Harlow was in my tummy, such as the sprinkles of eucalyptus, the pampas with their “angel wing-like” vibe, and her favorite color, green. While I splurged on some pieces in the room, like the gold floral mirror, I also mixed in quite a bit of inexpensive items that really make the room come to life.

Aqua, Gold and Black Nursery

A aqua, black and gold baby girl’s nursery. This non-traditional nursery uses big patterns and bold colors throughout, including a gold/white chevron ikat stenciled wall (paint), and a crib and dresser painted in bright aqua using nontoxic paint. Elsewhere the nursery is splashed with black and white stripes, including the storage bins, rug, curtains and accessories.
We painted the wall gold using Modern Masters Metallic Paint as the base coat, and white as the overlay. While we used several different metallic colors, in retrospect, one 32 oz bottle of this would have achieved the same look.
