Mini Nursery in a Master Bedroom

We found out we were pregnant with baby #3 while in the thick of restoring our 120 year old historic home. We didn’t want to undertake the hassle of converting an entire room into a nursery for a little more than a year, so we decided to create a “mini nursery” in the attic dormer of our third floor master bedroom! I really love how it turned out and how we were able to utilize special items like mini cribs and heirloom furniture pieces to make a gender neutral space that works while we need it but can later be repurposed throughout our home.

Sweet Cream Nursery Nook

*Update- We moved. See how I transitioned the nook to a nursery in our baby’s new space.
With my second baby’s nursery, I am working with a much smaller space than I had with my first. As we search for our next home with more space, we are making it work with this small but sweet nursery nook. I learned with my first babe that I will be sleeping in the room with her for several months. Therefore, I decided to create a partial nursery nook/bedroom combo. I created a serene sweet cream and neutral colored room with a touch of florals, bunnies, and sweet woodland friends. Big sis chose a few special touches such as the baby plant, duck, and a few other items making it an extra special project. We also added a precious little stocking since she will be a Christmas babe! I look forward to enjoying this cozy space with our future little lady!

A Quiet Nursery Nook for Miss Nola Grace

I stumbled upon another nursery on Pinterest that led me to Project Nursery and that’s where I began to draw my inspiration.  Most of the room is centered around the crib sheet which is where I drew most of my theme and colors.  I started just trying to find accessories for the room in similar colors and it just all sort of came together!  I then went and perused the aisles of Hobby Lobby which is where I got most of the wall art from (because where else do you go for fabulous inexpensive wall art?).
I think my favorite part of the whole nursery is the dormer window space that we made into a little reading nook. My husband made the bookshelves and window bench seat and I upholstered the seat with fabric from Hobby Lobby.  To add the finishing touch I added a mirror to make the space look bigger—It’s just so cozy!
