Quentin’s Animal Nursery

When I started to shop for baby bedding, I was struck by how theme-y the sets are. I would find a crib sheet and quilt that I really liked, but was hit over the head with the theme again & again. Curtains, diaper stackers and bumpers, Oh My! All of which, I had no intention of using. So I decided to avoid an overt theme. and instead try to create a space that Baby Q could grow into and make his own. I mean what if I created a baseball nursery and he grew up to hate sports? I know this is maybe silly and maybe even unlikely, but I tried to create a functional and transitional space for my little one with pretty neutral colors and a loose animal theme. Additionally, at my baby shower guests were asked to bring a children’s book instead of a card. The little guy has quite the library, so we wanted a place to store and display his books. The glider now doubles as a space for feeding & reading with all the books easily accessible without even getting up out of the chair. Reading is important to my husband and I so we really want to pass that on.

Michael’s Jungle Baby Room

The Blake Family wanted a fun and inviting baby room! Custom mural by artist, Pamela Townsend; consisting of a Monkey, Giraffe, Lion, Elephant surround the walls with playful smiles. A banana tree is prefect to sit under with a good night time book to read baby Michael to sleep. The wall letters were handmade with scrapbook paper and even showcases Micheal’s hand print and footprint. Zebra rug, valance and crib skirt were all purchased at Target.
