Ikat Zig Zag Gender Neutral Nursery

Meet Audra, the DIY enthusiast behind the blog The Kurtz Corner.  Audra chose to create a gender neutral nursery.  She found that choosing colors that don’t exclusively identify with either gender like yellows, whites, oranges, greens, browns, grays, etc. is the best way to go.  After painting the wall several colors, she painted the Ikat Zig Zag Stencil from Cutting Edge Stencils.

Declan’s Vintage Grey Nursery

I’d been dreaming up ideas for my son’s nursery as soon as we found out he was on his way.  Knowing we’d probably be spending a lot of sleepless nights in this space I really strived to create a soothing and inviting place using a variety of fabrics in greys and creams.  I also brought in some vintage touches for a more rustic feel.  I tried to get as creative as I could with the budget so the room is filled with lots of diy projects.  For more you can visit us at www.aboyagirlandapug.blogspot.com

Patton’s Paradise

This is my daughter’s nursery.  The goal of the space was to have a sophisticated feminine feeling. The nursery is on the main living level of our home so the design was intended to flow with the rest of our living space.  The hallway outside the room is turquoise so this almost glowing pink/peach color for the walls looks beautiful from the hallway. In summary, I invested in good quality pieces which would last her for years.

cupcakeMAG home: Small Spaces Re-Vamp

For the last few months we have been working with the amazing Newport Cottages, The Land of Nod, Serta, Serena & Lily, Annette Tatum, Belle Patri, Drawstring Studio, Name Your Design, The TomKat Studio Shop and lots more amazing companies to create the perfect space for our latest cupcakeMAG home makeover project! You may recall our last one here, which created quite the buzz here, on Project Nursery.  It is all about focusing on the small spaces trend – creating a wow factor in a small space with big things. Our canvas is a blank 10 x 8 room which we created for 2 sisters.

Baby W’s Sweet Space

I knew I wanted the nursery to be soothing, yet colorful and something that could easily transition to a more “grown up” space as as our baby matured.  It was important to me that I could incorporate some new pieces with inexpensive/vintage pieces so that the room had character (and didn’t break the bank!).  I was lucky to have the talented Lindsay Brummer come take pictures of the room http://www.lindsaybrummerphotography.com/!
