Little Gentleman Baby Shower

This baby shower was special because it was for my sisters soon to be baby boy Callum. She lives in Minneapolis so I was far from home and my normal prop inventory but we made it work. The theme of the shower was little gentleman, the Daddy to be is quite a snappy dresser, so we wanted to incorporate that into the shower.
The color palette was blues and greens with lots of gold accents. Some of my favorite details were the bowties I made and mounted in a gold frame to be displayed on the food table. I also loved the vintage plates that we found at a bridal consignment shop in Minneapolis. The plates helped give the party that vintage southern feel we were looking for. Consignment shops are great places to find items that add special and unique touches to a party.
Since we were going for that southern gentleman feel we decided to do an Arnold Palmer bar, both the spiked and unspiked versions, complete with peach puree and sweet tea vodka served in a mason jar of course. For food we had a cheese and charcuterie board and a cake and desserts from The Salty Tart in Minneapolis www.saltytart.com
I love to do advice cards at all of my baby showers, they are always a hit and give the mommy to be a good laugh after the party. We also did a onesie decorating station where guests could decorate onesies for baby Callum with bowties and suspenders.
I feel like the invitations I designed set the tone for the shower complete with a custom crest and bow tie on each invite. I also carried the crest into all of stationary we used for the games and advice cards.
I was happy with how the shower came together and feel like the gentleman theme came across but wasn’t too over the top. I like all of my parties to have a theme but not have it slap you in the face everywhere you look, the details give you a feeling of the theme without plastering bowties on everything.
