Jessie wanted a girly, fun space to do homework and play. She is a talented artist, so she needed a place to create and display her work. The playroom is connected to her bedroom so they two spaces relate to each other through the use of paint and pattern.
I wanted to create a look that was feminine and whimsical and that blended elements of both old and new. I also wanted the room to be bright and cheerful and reflect the energy my little girl will undoubtedly have. I scoured Craigslist, antique stores, and re-purposed several things I already had on hand and then combined that with some great new pieces I found along the way. I also was fortunate to have a mom who loves to sew so all the bedding and bunting flags were made by her with love at a fraction of the cost it would be to buy something custom made. The most important aspect of this room was I only put things in it that were perfect and I absolutely love. It often took longer or resulted in my husband having to build something for me, but the result was a room that is perfect for the sweet little girl who will hopefully be born soon!
A happy room filled with things we love for our baby :)
