Our Globe-Trotting Girl’s 1st Birthday

When our daughter turned 1, we wanted to celebrate not only her first year, but all the friends and family who’d supported us along the way.  It was important to us to have a party theme that was flexible enough for both adult and kiddie friends to enjoy.  We selected our theme based on all of the first-year adventures we had with Roo–She visited seven different countries and both US coasts before her first birthday!  She’s our adventurous little Globe-Trotter, so the theme fit her perfectly.
We are also very fortunate to have a dear friend who is a wonderful photographer: Justin Lee from justinleephotography.com really captured the event perfectly.

Mia’s First Birthday Party

Since Mia is turning 1 she didn’t request anything specific for her first birthday party, but we wanted it to reflect her personality so we kept it bright and colorful. We stuck to a few colors (blue, pink, purple, and some gold) but other than that it was sort of a free for all! I made a lot of the decorations myself and some of the food (CAKE POP FAIL!)
It was brunch time and we wanted the food to be baby friendly, so we served mini-waffles, cut up fruit, mini cream cheese sandwiches, and mini-desserts (plus the birthday cake)
In the end, Mia had a great morning surrounded by her loving family!

Jake & The Neverland Pirates 2nd Birthday Party!

I designed and created all the decor and elements for my son’s 2nd birthday party – a Jake & The Neverland Pirates theme!
We held the birthday party at an indoor play venue where the kids, and even some adults, got to enjoy inflatable slides and a foam shooting range for 1.5 hours, plus face-painting, caricature drawings, and pirate favors for all the kids. It turned out wonderful and it brought joy to my heart to see all the smiles on our friends and family’s faces.
