Boho Chic Nursery

My clients had a clear vision for their baby’s nursery from the moment we sat down at our first design meeting. We started with the color palette, balancing the expansion of coral and turquoise from the rest of the house into the nursery to create a cohesive flow, while also giving the room a personality of its own. We settled on a boho chic feel which was achieved through classic textures paired with birds and butterflies, a fun way to take the baby from her first steps and into toddlerhood. The classic grey and white palette of the furniture will allow the pieces to grow with the room and the blush pink walls were just enough to make it girly without taking over. Adding a touch of whimsy with a cozy nook at the window was a perfect way to bring in some adventurous colors while topping off the space.

Dreamy Floral and Coral Nursery

The day my husband and I found out that we were going to welcome a little girl into our world, I felt like I was in a beautiful dream! We purchased a home in preparation for our growing family and made the nursery our first focal point.  The room for the nursery was chosen for it’s spaciousness and natural light. I wanted to create a dreamy and peaceful space to emulate the emotion I felt on the day I was told she would be a she. Thus we filled the room with a delightful amount of girly pretties including florals, coral hues, and gold accents. The floral mobile (which is handmade by my talented aunt and a family friend) was gifted to us and became the inspiration for everything else. With the help of my parents, we created the oasis we wanted for our little angel. It was a true labor of love and worth every second. My parents even reupholstered my childhood rocking chair to match our color scheme! Now our little girl has arrived bringing us so much joy, and we hope her nursery brings her sweet dreams every day! Beth Adilly so remarkably captured the love that this room and our baby girl bring us each day.  Our dreams have come true. Just pinch me!

Coral and Aqua Baby Girl’s Nursery!

I knew I wanted a coral/aqua/gold or coral/mint/gold nursery with a shabby chic/whimsical feel! I also knew I wanted to mix and match pieces… so walking into Babies R Us and picking an entire nursery collection was not for me. I found the 3-tier crib skirt first which was perfect because it was 3 different fabrics which fit right into my mix and match plan! Ironically only 2 tiers show with how the crib frame is, but that’s okay! My mom and I then built the nursery around that crib skirt!
It was a lot of fun just browsing stores and online shops looking for the perfect pieces for Baby Girl’s Nursery! It was a lot of trial and error… buying and returning… to make sure all the colors matched but the end product turned out better than I could have imagined so it was all worth it!

Washington DC Nursery

This Washington DC nursery is a bright, clean and cheerful space for baby to grow. We set the color palette and created a back drop with Cole & Sons’ modern Flamingo wallpaper and a modern white crib juxtaposed against the earth textures of the jute and crystal chandelier and soft sheepskin rug.  Crystal knobs and pink edged, relaxed roman shades add a touch of femininity and bring the space together.

Clara’s Coral Nursery

Designing our little girl’s nursery will forever be one of my favorite memories. I had so much fun spending many a sleepless night pregnant and scouring the internet for DIY projects to create a pretty, welcoming space for our daughter. My husband also helped. He did the faux wainscoting (a fun and easy project I snagged on Pinterest from this blog). He was also kind enough to humor me while we searched (and searched) several hardware stores for the perfect color gray.
