Christmas Pajama, Hot Cocoa, and Cookie Party

Every year I host an annual Christmas pajama, hot cocoa, and cookie playdate.  It is perhaps, the most fun party for me to throw each year.  I love to have a hot cocoa bar complete with all the fixings and make delicious sugar cookies. All the babies and mamas are invited to wear festive pjs and bring a holiday treat to share.  It’s so casual and fun!  This year, I really wanted my party to have a bit of a rustic charm and elegance.  Lots of real wreaths and garlands and I even came across a farm stand selling handfuls of red berry stems for $5.00.  I have a lot of industrial/farmhouse decor in my home so I utilized a lot of wood, galvanized metal, and mason jars for most of my decor.  I was able to decorate my home and the party at very little cost.  This is such a fun tradition that my girls and I look forward to every year!

Sebastian’s North Pole Birthday Brunch

Twas the night before December, and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, except for two very excited expecting parents!
With our son being born bright and early the First of December, 2014, it seemed only fitting that his first birthday party would kickstart this year’s holiday festivities.  A spin on the traditional ONE-derland theme, Sebastian’s North Pole Birthday Breakfast had just the right splash of sparkle and tinsel, polar bears and penguins, and of course songs and snow!  After all, there is sNOw sweeter age than ONE!

Arctic Explorer 1st birthday party

Having a winter birthday party in Brooklyn, NY forced a little extra creativity. Outside lavish garden parties with lovely tents and strings of lights just wouldn’t really be ideal in this climate. Although those are the kinds of parties I dream of throwing! I kept seeing winter party ideas but none of them really fit into my vision. I wanted something with a stronger theme to build upon. Then I had this idea of an Arctic Explorer theme!

Vintage Red Truck Christmas Toy Drive Party

We recently hosted a toy drive party for some of my son’s friends to kick off the Christmas season.  We have hosted cookie swap and gift exchange parties in the past, but this year we wanted to do something to give back to others in our community.  The invitation we sent asked that each child bring an unwrapped toy, which was donated to our local firemen’s toy drive. It was a great way to get the kids together, but also teach them that it’s our responsibility to take care of others in our community
