Simple Gender-Neutral Nursery
I wanted our baby’s nursery to be gender-neutral, simple and colourful.
I wanted our baby’s nursery to be gender-neutral, simple and colourful.
Our obsession with geometric patterns and vibrant colors were our focal point in this nursery along with adding an arrangement of old and new. We were aiming for a calm, relaxing room that could be comfortable for this growing family, designating specific colors to each twin to reflect their gender but still using the same print of fabric to show they came as a pair!
Baby’s parents wanted the room to be happy and colorful, without being over the top. They chose the color scheme to bring warmth into the room. The nursery was a labor of love. The parents picked colors from Quiet Nursery’s paint line and painted the room from top to bottom themselves. They also lovingly painted the dresser and brought in family heirlooms and hand-me-downs to make the nursery personal.
I really wanted Liam to have a fun room. I am a big fan of bright colors, and wanted to incorporate especially a lot of yellow and red. I love, love, love crafting, so there’s a lot in here that I just made/repurposed/designed myself. I didn’t really have a specific ‘budget’, just that I wanted to be as thrifty as possible here. (Having a baby gets expensive, after all! I wanted to make our dollars stretch!) By learning a few new skills–aka picking up sewing for the first time in my life, scouring Craigslist endlessly, thrifting, & shopping at discount stores (Ross, TJ Maxx, etc.) and Amazon, I was able to put this entire room together for under $500 It definitely took a lot more time/work than just buying all brand-new, fancy things, but to me it was a labor of love + it’s more unique and more my style.
A casual modern space to spark Baby A’s imagination through the years. Since we used the nursery as a guest room before Baby A’s arrival, I wanted the room to be able to grow and transition as a boy’s room, a gender neutral kids room, or back into a guest room in the future.
Gender neutral nursery with different patterns and textures.
My husband and I found out we were expecting just a little sooner than WE expected! We are currently still living in a 2 bedroom apartment, but didn’t want to move in the middle of our pregnancy. So, we decided to make the best of our current office space that occupied our 2nd room and transform it into a nursery… leaving just the office essentials to get us by!
Our girl’s room is a little vintage, a little modern and just a little bit of everything:). I really tried to create a space that would be transitional. My hope is to be able to replace the crib with a bed in two years and call it a big girl room.
Teddy’s nursery took about 7 months to complete, which is unheard of for me, as I make decisions on the fly and want things done yesterday. Because we ordered a brand new line of furniture, there were some delays in getting it (on the manufacturer’s end)– add that to the several months that it took for me to decide what to do with his wall letters, and you arrive at the 7 month completion date for this nursery. In spite of how long it took, we are really happy with the result.
I wanted to create a nursery that was relaxing, feminine, unique and incorporated my DIY handy-work and hand made pieces from friends and family.
Wanted to make this room unisex without using yellows & greens, we also wanted to keep it simple & modern and fun. We chose on black, white, orange & teal. We used new, vintage & refurbished pieces.
Mom & Dad weren’t afraid of a nursery that incorporated color and lots of it! They were inspired by the pretty hues of cotton candy to create a bright, modern and not too serious space for their little girl.
I wanted to stay away from a typical themed nursery if possible and create a bright nursery. Once I decided on my colors everything else just fell in to place!
This is the nursery I made for my second son. I was inspired by some whale fabric I found at a local fabric shop. Being on a budget, I wanted to do most things by hand. All the decor was made by myself and my sister.
Wanting to instill a love of travel in our little one, we desiged Grayson’s nursery around all things travel in a vintage/mordern way. From the antique dresser, buffet, and globe, to the modern chervron rug and travel fabric, this room clearly is all about traveling the world. For a personal touch, we also framed vinatge maps of San Francisco (my hometown), Denver (my husband’s hometown), and Phoenix (where we currently reside and where Baby G will be born).
Girly but not PINK!!!
We started this large room from scratch and wanted it to be just perfect for our little one! We took our time, finding pieces and decor that meant something to us (with our tight budget in mind). There are still some blank walls and floor space that we’ll fill as Baby T. shows us his/her personality. For now, we hope Baby T. loves it as much as Mommy and Daddy do!
Mila’s nursery is a mixture of vintage and modern. We combined old finds with new products to create a comfortable, storybook nursery.
We wanted a nursery that wasn’t too girly, but would provide a fun and peaceful place for our little girl to grow up in. With custom prints and bedding, we were able to a put together a room that wasn’t locked into one specific theme but went with our creative style.
