Sound the Alarm for Maverick’s Fire Truck 4th Birthday Party!

My son LOVES fire trucks. I mean, he can’t get enough!  There is sheer excitement in his face when one passes us on the street with its lights flashing and sirens blaring!  So, for his 4th birthday, we decided to pull out all the stops and throw him the birthday party of his 4 year old dreams – A Fire Truck Birthday Party!
I sent out invitations that I had designed and have for sale now in my Etsy Shop.
For party activities, Smokey’s Fire Engine came and toured the kids around the neighborhood with sirens blaring and lights flashing!  The kids also did an obstacle course which we called a ‘firefighter training course’, in which they got to put out fire in a “burning building”, toss hula hoops around a hydrant, and use a backpack with a water hose to spray down cups.  There was also a fireman craft table, yummy fireman-themed food, and endless fun had by all!
Some of my favorite parts of his party were:

the fireman on straw poles
the fireman obstacle course
the fondant cake by Les Pop Sweets with Maverick’s name in the fire hose!
the rides in a real fire truck around the neighborhood
the flame-look balloons we used as table centerpieces
The fondant cake topper with his name in the hose spelled out!
The stuffed Datamation puppies we gave away as party favors
the smile on Maverick’s face as he thought he was a REAL firefighter!

To easily recreate this party for your own special little fire-truck loving boy, you can head over to my shop and purchase the Fire Truck / Firefighter Digital Printable “Party in a Box” Kit!  It takes the stress out of planning a birthday party, and your little man will have the best day ever!

Maverick’s Speedy 3rd Birthday – A Race Car Party!

Racers,Start Your Engines!!
My son Maverick is a little speedster.  He doesn’t walk.  He runs!  And like most little boys, he is borderline obsessed with anything with wheels.  He loves taking his cars and crashing them into one another, and lining them up by size and color, and of course – racing them!
I knew Mav would love a race car-themed party for his 3rd birthday.  The kids really loved racing the matchbox cars on different tracks in our backyard.
Some of my favorite elements to this party were the customized lanyards and pit passes I made for all the guests to wear as they entered the party.  It was really fun and felt like a real race track!
I also loved Maverick’s race car-themed cake, complete with a speedometer, race car, and finish line and was displayed on a real tire.  His favorite color is blue and he loved that I incorporated blue all over the party decor.
If you have a car-loving little boy, I highly suggest throwing him a race car party for one of his birthdays!  It’s a great party theme that you can do in many different colors.
Blinking traffic lights and car wall decals added to race car theme throughout our house!

Aiden’s Milk, Cookies, and Mustaches Party

Much to my delight, Aiden requested a mustache party! Yes, it’s been done but I loved mustaches (found them hilarious) before they were trendy so I was really excited.
Plus it’s perfect for Aiden who is one of the smartest kids I know but a total goofball who loves his milk and of course, loves cookies.
I did as many DIYs as possible to keep the costs down and to make the party personal.

Arctic Explorer 1st birthday party

Having a winter birthday party in Brooklyn, NY forced a little extra creativity. Outside lavish garden parties with lovely tents and strings of lights just wouldn’t really be ideal in this climate. Although those are the kinds of parties I dream of throwing! I kept seeing winter party ideas but none of them really fit into my vision. I wanted something with a stronger theme to build upon. Then I had this idea of an Arctic Explorer theme!

Baby B’s 1st Birthday

When my dear friend, Tracy, asked me to do the printables and dessert table for her son, Brendan’s first birthday, I was so honored. Tracy has amazing style and knew exactly the feel she wanted for Baby B’s party- modern, classy with a little bit of vintage. Tracy had picked the graphic marigold fabric for the tablecloth on the dessert table and wanted to use burlap and twine accents. She made the adorable paper mache bees for decorations and centerpieces and wrapped tin cans with twine to continue the vintage feel on the tables. For the dessert table, I stuck to treats that fit our gold, burlap and white color scheme. Yummy treats included beehive s’mores, caramel cheesecake shooters, honey popcorn, lemon parfaits, and store bought Oreo Cakesters decorate with chocolate stripes. The kids loved the bit of honey treat bags and honey taffy. For the backdrop picture, I simply sent the image of the bee that we used on the invitations to my local printer who enlarged it to fit our frame. The small frame on the table is a list of the many virtues Tracy and her husband, Charlie, wish for their son.Guest left with bumble gum tubes and Mason jars that Tracy had planted with sunflower seeds and a tag reminding them to “bee patient”. All the banners and labels were in the shape of a honeycomb. The entire bee collection including invitation, labels, banner, water bottle wraps, juice box covers and more is available for purchase at http://etsy.com/shop/bloomdesignsonline.
