Vintage Glam Girl Nursery

After 3 months of hard work and design my baby girls nursery is ready for her arrival, due July 19!   After a long struggle to conceive this miracle baby, I had a desire to make a peaceful, beautiful oasis for baby girl and for me.  My sister and I decided to make all of her crib bedding on our own because I couldn’t find the sophisticated/pretty soft pink and white I was looking for. Our Mom, who recently passed away just three months ago, also made all of our crib bedding when we were babies, this was a really wonderful tribute to her and all she did for us, we were definitely channeling her skills.

Vintage Inspired Twin Nursery

When we found out we were expecting twin girls, I was daunted by the idea of creating a functional nursery for two babies in such a small space.  My husband and I bought a 1,000 sq. foot bungalow three years ago, before we were thinking about one, much less TWO, little ones.  However, by piecing together items I love and hiding storage anywhere possible, we were able to work with the limited space we have to bring the nursery to life.

Rowyn Adeline’s Vintage Botanical Nursery

My husband and I started turning this room into a nursery just a few weeks before we even found out we were pregnant. It was in the midst of installing the chair rail when we found out we were expecting. We had already gone with the Balmy Seas blue for the walls, thinking it was a neutral shade that could go either way. I always loved this color paired with feminine tones, so I was hoping our little bean would end up being a girl. Luckily, she did! After we found out we were having a girl, it was on to start decorating. We were on a budget, so I knew I would have to be creative to achieve the look I was envisioning. I fell in love with the “Love Bird” bedding by Bananafish, even though it was a little pricey. However, I splurged on it and I let the beautiful print of the bedding set the tone for the Garden Party inspired theme I was envisioning. I also wanted to infuse Flea Market style pieces into her room, so many of the things you see in her nursery were picked up at flea markets or antique shops. I had a great time repurposing!
