Golden Safari Baby Shower

First and foremost, thank you to my wonderful mother and Aunt for bringing my vision to life! Since my son’s nursery was modern safari, we decided do the same with my baby shower theme – hello, GOLDEN SAFARI! We used the wall pictures bought for his nursery as the shower decor, which saved $ and the decor and it was multi-functional!
Wall decor links provided in his Project Nursery gallery “It’s a wild world”.
We searched Amazon and found plastic toy safari animals in various sizes that we then spray painted in a bronze color. Also on Amazon were giant faux palm leaves that we used on the tables, around centerpieces, as well as hung throughout the event space. What better centerpiece than a real pineapple?! It was a perfect idea because the pineapples made for the most affordable centerpieces and guests were able to take home and eat! We kept the cupcakes a simple vanilla with a white Italian buttercream and topped with an animal cracker. We displayed Ferrero Rocher chocolates with pineapple crowns on an elegant porcelain tiered dessert stand. I loved the modern black & white striped table runners! They truly complimented the gold table accents and tropical faux foliage. I remember the moment I stepped foot into my shower – my eyes were the size of saucers. I was in awe. It was everything I imagined of and more. Wish all you expecting mamas that same magical feeling at your shower!
XO, Nicole

Rustic Farmhouse Baby Shower

My friend Amanda has a gorgeous farmhouse style home in Nashville, TN, so I thought a simple rustic farmhouse theme was perfect for her baby sprinkle. The shower was very feminine. Also very farmhouse with galvanized metal and lots of mason jars. I made a DIY Hula Hoop decor focal point. The DIY elements were easy! The co-hosts and I created a Walk Around Charcuterie table and desserts were a pie bar and cookie tray. We had a wishing tree for guests to write down wishes for the mama and baby on the way. Shower favors were deconstructed caramel apples.

Bonjour Bebé

When planning a special party, which is something I’ve done quite a bit of over the past few years, I always find it best to pick the perfect venue first, then allow the details to flourish from there.
I planned my own baby shower, yes I know that traditionally it’s supposed to be done by others, but what can I say…I like to be in control!
Esme was due in December, so I was excited to have a Baby Shower in October because I love the fall weather and that month in particular. I stumbled upon a gorgeous venue in Los Angeles, Le Muse, and from there everything just fell into place.
I was such a happy and glowing mama-to-be and with every single day that passed, I fell more and more in love with my little angel. I know most people say that they can’t wait to meet their baby, but I really loved just carrying her and having her all to myself. She ended up being 10 days late and I had to be induced, and not once did I feel like I was done being pregnant and wanted her out!
My biggest advice for planning a fun and memorable party is to remember that not all of your guests are pregnant and some may not even have kids yet, so be sure to make it entertaining for everyone and also remember that it’s a shower for the mama!!! Not the baby :)

Safari Chic Baby Shower

It’s a Jungle out there – Welcome to our Safari Chic baby shower! Hosted at a private estate in San Diego, it was our goal to turn this beautiful backyard into a safari oasis.  Sticking with a modern color palette that included: green, white, and touches of gold, this baby shower was a mixture of tropical, jungle and chic.  The Soirée team created custom signs that were sprinkled throughout the house including a grand welcome sign upon walking in.  This design was carried on from the invitation for all the guests.  We wanted to make the experience of walking to the backyard much like being on a safari, there were various stops on your way with plenty to look at!  Upon walking in, you were greeted by Jamie (day of coordinator) and asked to shake it like a Polaroid picture + sign the guestbook.  From there, you were given a clothes pin to not say…well you know the word!  Next, drop off a gift for the guest of honor and fill out a diaper raffle ticket if you brought some.  As you turned the corner, there were 2 fun activities you could participate in:  Baby’s 1st ABC book, where you chose a letter, colored + signed it.  There was also a onsie making station with fun graphics all in safari theme style with a custom “made with love” sign!  If that wasn’t enough, you were also greeted by the dessert table full of amazing sweets + treats from the greatest vendors!  After that, it was out to the back where tables were decorated with safari animals, balloons and you picked up a glass of Sangria.  The guest of honor had a chair in the middle of all her guest which also worked as a photo booth.  This event was as precious as the cargo it was intended for, Baby Bennett!

Otomi-Themed Fiesta Baby Shower

One of my best friends, Meredith, is the queen of color (and sugar, but I’ll get to that in a minute!). Her business, Cake & Confetti, says it all! Meredith is expecting a baby right before Christmas, which is fitting, since her birthday is December 25th.
I knew that I wanted to throw Mere a bright baby shower, something that was a bit atypical (“babyish” isn’t really her style). When I saw some Otomi-themed prints on Pinterest, I knew that was the direction we had to go in.
Some of my favorite items from the shower were the cake, made by a friend, Monica of Paper Flour Ink, all of the gorgeous florals by Blush & Vine, and the calligraphy by Nancy of Natalie Gene Creative.
We both shared our points of view on the party on our blogs, with vendors sourced there!

DIY Rustic Chic Baby Shower

I had so much fun putting together this baby shower! Almost everything was DIY – dollar store frames, dollar store favor bags, Target clearance centerpieces, etc. The font for the signs, “Loreal”, was purchased from Creative Market. The guestbook, thank you favor tags, and coloring book activity were all unique Etsy finds. The swaddle from How Joyful Shop was absolutely perfect as a backdrop since the pregnant mama has waited 20 years for her second baby! Such a special day at an amazing venue in Montana. <3

Born to be Wild! A Boho Safari Baby Shower

To celebrate the arrival of Sarah Bear’s little cub, she was shown lots of love with a “wild” baby shower, hosted and coordinated by her best friend, Joyce. The invitations designed by Stephan Canthal Art were the prelude to the gold animals that served as one of the main design details, from the onesie cookies, drink stirrers, table photo holders, and mason jar favors.
The colors of the shower were Jungle Green, Gold, Black, and White and designed by Jane Burbank. The floral arrangements by Seed Floral included monstera leaves in glass cylinders with gold animals along with succulent and orchid planters, which worked perfectly with the theme and venue.

Love you to the Moon – An Indigo Baby Boy Shower

On a perfect sunny day, forty of Sandra’s closest friends and family showered her with love in this classically themed fete.

We kept her invite pretty and subtle but gave a nod to the timeless moon theme by pairing it with a playful stargazing envelope. It was a classy affair with buttery blooms, lush greens and oak bentwood chairs filling her sister’s spacious home in Fullerton, California. Guests sipped on Blue(berry) Moon wine and bubbly while mingling and snapping photos with the mama-to-be.

When it came to the sweets, the details in the desserts by JenTeeBakes were impeccable and not to mention, so delicious! I carried the same beautiful tone of blue in the dessert tablecloth by hand dying napkins and crafting marbled moon place cards for each place setting. Also, tying in with the theme, each table number sign bore an adorable moon nursery rhyme. They were written beautifully in metallic gold and blue ombre.

To keep the event light and airy, I put a modern twist on the iconic vintage paper moon backdrop by building  a charming fringe paper version. In the end, the shower turned out to be pretty and just a bit whimsical – a perfect analogy of the mama to be!

Up, Up and Away Baby Shower

When Avery was about 7 weeks along our doctor said that it looked like she was holding a balloon celebrating during an ultrasound. So from that moment I had my heart set on having a hot air balloon themed party. The shower was held at the Pelican Grand Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale under their outside pavilion. It was a stunning location right on the ocean. We had gorgeous weather and I had the best time!

Love this chalkboard illustration welcoming guests to the shower! It was done by an amazing company called Unearthed Vintage. They also provided a lot of the decor for the shower including the farmhouse tables and chairs!

 Place settings and favors

Personalized Avery pens for the games

Table numbers, flowers in mason jars and a floral table runner

Each seat had a paper fan to decorate the back!

The place cards were done by an amazing Etsy seller and were hung on vintage shutters!

Prayer bookmarks with Avery’s verse, 1 Samuel 1:27

 Pashminas to keep guests warm!

Beautiful sitting area with vintage luggage and pashminas

Custom art with Avery’s bible verse…it’s now hanging in her nursery!

A beautiful dresser held all of the candy and dessert!

These key lime cupcakes from Candy’s Cakepops are the best!

French macaroons :)

 My favorite flowers, hydrangeas

 Pink hydrangea and candelabras

Fingerprint hot air balloon replaced the typical guest book

Avery’s gifts were placed on a vintage wagon!

The chair where I opened gifts :)

We played one game, what is in your purse?

Opening presents – my sister helping me! I was wearing a Diane Von Furstenburg wrap dress and Kira sandals from JCrew.

Kris surprised me at the shower with flowers and a new engagement ring! He had a halo setting added to my ring for our Angel Avery! It was the best moment!

Vintage Baby Boy Shower

Wood, galvanized metal, burlap, hand painted alphabet blocks, handcrafted pennant banners, & Teddy bears were some of the amazing details from the Rustic vintage inspired shower for mama to be Ashley.
Mom wanted a beautiful shower to celebrate their last child. So that is exactly what we did.  Went to work and contacted my vendor friends to help me pull this look to together an awesome baby boy vintage shower.
Carmen Navarro Designs: Carmen was the creative mind behind the entire look of the shower. Styling every last detail to make it perfect, carefully pulling all the décor details together.  Handcrafted pennants banners that matched the denim blue color scheme were hung above each guest table. Vintage books, silver chargers, mason jars with a paper straw, hand painted baby blocks & toys, blue washed painted mason jars with babies breath flanked each tablescape.
The dessert table featured an over the top design with so many fun accents. From a diaper cake, wood blocks, suitcases, knitted blankets, textured pillows, books, marquee lights, lanterns, galvanized tubs, crates, and a blue truck. Gorgeous floral flanked each side of the table giving it some much needed balanced. & of course how can we forget those awesome teddy bears throughout the shower.

Rickety Swank: Provided the beautiful Thomasville vintage buffet, which we used as the dessert station. They also provided the rustic ladders with planks for the backdrop of the dessert table.
Irene’s Dessert Table: Created such an amazing cake with details that were too cute to eat. An intricate handmade fondant teddy bear flanked on the top of the cake along with some handcrafted edible baby blocks. Now I have seen many cake pops in my line of work, these pops have to be some of the cutest one I have in encountered. The little brown and blue teddys were such an amazing detail.
Cookies by Kerri: These royal icing cookies were insanely intricate. Teddy bears, rattles, onesies, & baby carriages matched perfectly to all the details of the shower. That washed denim look was amazing.
Tre Fiori Studio: Mason jars filled with babies breath brought life to each guest tablescape. Along with the 2 gorgeous floral pieces that flanked the dessert table, these were definitely showstoppers within themselves.
Leah Rae Photography: Captured the essence of this shower perfectly!

Words from the mom to be “My experience was very special, I felt like the decor and ambiance was breath taking, it made me feel so joyful. My guests were having such a wonderful time, they could not stop talking about how beautiful the decor was and how gorgeous everything looked! The cake was delicious and beautiful! The floral was gorgeous, every detail was perfect! My favorite detail was my dessert table! It was out of this world! It was exactly what I was visioning! The entire shower was breath taking and I truly felt blessed and happy.”

Garden Baby Shower

A close friend was expecting her 3rd girl, ( I just love all the pink!!) so me and a friend decided  to put our thoughts together and take care of the decor for her  baby shower! It was the first week of April but apparently New England weather didn’t get the memo… so here we are doing an inside vintage garden party! (What a task!)
We had planned on lots of flowers and green, some golds and a bit of a rustic look.
We started by making the flower garland for the backdrop. It was so easy and the glue gun was our best friend for this project! A little sparkle is needed for anything girls related, and the champaign and dust rose sequin fabric was perfect to achieve that!
Natural flowers, a beautiful naked cake and some yummy brazillian sweets definitely tied everything  together!

Girl’s DIY Floral Baby Shower

I have always been drawn to flowers – I love their ability to brighten up any space. Since my friend was having a baby girl, it was the perfect opportunity to bring flowers in as a theme. This baby shower was hosted at my house, so I didn’t have to do much extra decorating since my home was already decorated. I used a similar color palette of turquoise, peach, pink and white. All of the decorations were DIY projects my husband and I made – the flower arrangements, the signs, the diaper cake, the white pallet backdrop, the tissue flowers, the banners, the scalloped banner strung across the dining room ceiling. Because our house is so tiny, I brought all of my chairs from around the house, and collected them in the living room. It gave the room a warm, eclectic feel, which I liked better than simply using folding chairs. This freed up space in the dining room for the food table.

Little Gentleman Baby Shower

This baby shower was special because it was for my sisters soon to be baby boy Callum. She lives in Minneapolis so I was far from home and my normal prop inventory but we made it work. The theme of the shower was little gentleman, the Daddy to be is quite a snappy dresser, so we wanted to incorporate that into the shower.
The color palette was blues and greens with lots of gold accents. Some of my favorite details were the bowties I made and mounted in a gold frame to be displayed on the food table. I also loved the vintage plates that we found at a bridal consignment shop in Minneapolis. The plates helped give the party that vintage southern feel we were looking for. Consignment shops are great places to find items that add special and unique touches to a party.
Since we were going for that southern gentleman feel we decided to do an Arnold Palmer bar, both the spiked and unspiked versions, complete with peach puree and sweet tea vodka served in a mason jar of course. For food we had a cheese and charcuterie board and a cake and desserts from The Salty Tart in Minneapolis www.saltytart.com
I love to do advice cards at all of my baby showers, they are always a hit and give the mommy to be a good laugh after the party. We also did a onesie decorating station where guests could decorate onesies for baby Callum with bowties and suspenders.
I feel like the invitations I designed set the tone for the shower complete with a custom crest and bow tie on each invite. I also carried the crest into all of stationary we used for the games and advice cards.
I was happy with how the shower came together and feel like the gentleman theme came across but wasn’t too over the top. I like all of my parties to have a theme but not have it slap you in the face everywhere you look, the details give you a feeling of the theme without plastering bowties on everything.

Copper and Woodland Baby Shower

For my party planner in crime’s 2nd baby she decided she wanted a small shower with not much fuss. I have been seeing the copper trend floating around party world and really wanted to use it. I saw some copper and wood cake stands on Anthropologie’s website a couple of months before that but they were sold out!! I searched the Internet and found some at Green Outfitters at really good price! I came across the copper terrariums at Joann Fabrics and got 30% off! Purchased the succulents at my local Walmart and raided my kids playroom for the animals. Karter my youngest was sceptical about letting mommy borrow his animals he thought I was going to paint and sell them in my ETSY shop! I bought the buffalo plaid fabric at Hobby Lobby to make the table runners and my sewing machine broke before I even finished one!! So I just folded twice and ironed! Napkin rings are actually copper pipe pieces from The Home Depot!! Since the baby shower was held at a restaurant there wasn’t a lot of room for activities so we had guests draw and color wooden blocks from Hobby Lobby. I purchased the globe at Target in the left over graduation section on clearance and used mod podge to glue the mountains and clouds. The copper “vases” are really pencil holders from Target!! Pretty happy with the way it turned out!! Can’t wait to meet the newest member of our boy band!
