Twins Nursery, Boy and Girl Dog Theme in New York

This twins nursery was inspired by the family’s two dogs. This couple wanted a fun and vibrant room that was whimsical yet not babyish. The dachshund wall paper set the stage for this nursery for a boy and girl. We added bright teal, aqua and yellow fabrics and a whimsical yellow chevron rug. The gray paint set the backdrop for our velvet nursery glider and the bright dog themed artwork. The custom aqua colored chandelier features branches and leaves in a nest shape. I found discount store lamps that were gold and silver in color and ordered custom colored spray paint so we could match the lamps to the chandelier.

Elena’s Pink, Aqua and Gray Nursery

I have always dreamed of one day designing a nursery for my baby and when we found out we were having a girl, I panicked.  Normally I shy away from all things girly, including the color pink, so I wasn’t sure how to incorporate my non-girly style into a nursery for our baby.  I threw together her room without much thought…and I hated it.  I spent the first month of night time feedings trying to figure out how to redo this mess of a room I created.  Ultimately I decided to keep it simple and add pops of bright color.  I wanted to create a room where Elena was not only comfortable, but fun as well, with lots of bright details to capture her attention and inspire her.  I browsed Pinterest and Project Nursery to gather additional inspiration and design ideas.

Aqua and Gray Chevron Nursery

This nursery was a labor of love and I had so much fun decorating it. I started gathering inspiration months before I was even pregnant. Pinterest and Project Nursery were instrumental in helping me find the inspiration I needed. By the time we found out we were expecting I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I created an inspiration board and began searching for the perfect pieces for my dream nursery. My budget was pretty tight so I decided to invest in a couple of items and the rest would be a combination of DIY Projects, Thrift store finds and gifts from friends and family. My mother and I both created artwork for the room and just about everything had a personal touch which was really special.
