Dream, Explore, Discover

As the founder and interior decorator at Charm Custom Interiors, it was so rewarding to complete this special project for my son’s baby nursery.💙🌟Theme: ”Dream, Explore, Discover”🌟🧑🏾‍🚀👨🏾‍✈️🌙🪐🌎🚀
I decided to choose a color pallete and theme that wasn’t too specific so my son can mature and evolve with the space.  I used various shades of blue, beige, and white while incorporating textures like wood, woven textile, leather, and gold metallic accents. There’s a combination of images like the dreamy blue sky, airplanes, astronaut, and exploration which provide the playful, imaginative element.  I hope my son is inspired to reach for the stars and know his options are limitless.🌟🌎🚀💙 Instead of hiring vendors to complete the install, my husband and I did everything ourselves.  We painted the walls & ceiling, hung wallpaper, hung curtains, replaced the light fixture, assembled furniture, and installed the decor finishing touches.
When thinking of a starting point for designing your space, think about what people, place, hobbies, etc. inspire you.  What feelings and emotions do you want your space to bring to its occupants? Once you find a source of inspiration, build around it.  I approach each project with a Pinterest board, curated mood board, color pallete, room measurements, room layout, and 3D design.

Little Man’s Airplane Third Birthday Party

My little guy has been obsessed with two things this year: trains and airplanes. Since he told us he wanted to be a Thomas for Halloween, airplane was the winner for the birthday theme as the day falls about 10 days after Halloween.
This year (the whole year) I have been testing and trying dairy/egg/soy free baking recipes. Ahaan is allergic to them but LOVES cakes and cupcakes. Last year, we had ordered a dairy/egg/soy free cake for his birthday. Which made me wonder about baking them at home instead of paying fortune to someone else. So the whole year, I tried and tested numerous recipes.
When his birthday rolled around, I was prepared….more or less. I baked all of the desserts (cakes, cupcakes, cookies and cake pops). I also baked white bread for kids’ sandwiches (since store brought bread has dairy on them).
I wasn’t sure if I could pull it off. But I think it turned out good. I was satisfied. I also DIYed a lot of decors and signs to ensure it matched the color scheme I had in mind.
Kids had a blast (I think) and adults enjoyed (I hope). :)

World Map / Travel Inspired Nursery

An inspiring space for our little man to grow and share our passion for travel!!
I didn’t want a nursery that said baby all over… I wanted a place that mom and dad could enjoy together with out little man.
That’s why we decided to do a nursery inspired in world travel, and incorporate all types of transportation.
We hope our baby will grow knowing what a beautiful world we can see together!!

Braylens Vintage Nursery

As DIY bloggers we knew this nursery would mainly consist of just that, DIY projects. We changed this basic bedroom in to a beautiful nursery for our baby boy. By adding board and batten, transforming the regular closet to a storage bench with hanging space, and adding vintage details all over, we feel we created a fun and unique space for B to grow up in. The bench in the closet will be a great reading nook for him as he gets older, with metal racks holding all his favorite books. We love that we were able to get 99% of the items in here from either Craigslist, eBay, or local auctions.

Come Fly With Me – Grayson’s Vintage/Modern Nursery

Wanting to instill a love of travel in our little one, we desiged Grayson’s nursery around all things travel in a vintage/mordern way. From the antique dresser, buffet, and globe, to the modern chervron rug and travel fabric, this room clearly is all about traveling the world. For a personal touch, we also framed vinatge maps of San Francisco (my hometown), Denver (my husband’s hometown), and Phoenix (where we currently reside and where Baby G will be born).
