Unicorn sleepover party

My sweet little Izzy Grace officially turned 7 and all she has begged for, for the last year is her very first sleepover. A unicorn theme one at that:) When I saw these tents on Pamper Me Cute I knew we had to make it happen. She picked 4 of her closest friends and they truly were adorable and had a blast. I think 5 was the perfect number of girls for a first sleepover. We painted nails, decorated cookies, they played dolls, tumbled, you name it! I put on a movie around 9:30 and they were all out by 10:15. It was amazing. The tents made it so magical for the girls.

Garden Party First Birthday for Twins

A year of laughter, love and fun; our little ladies turned ONE!
To celebrate our flower girls– Zara Rose and Poppy Fields, we planned a spring-time garden party to honor their names as well as their year of growth!
Mostly DIY’d by family, with some items purchased to create an easy, casual garden party with the girls’ closest friends and family.  Matching dresses in different colors (to help party guest easily distinguish between the identical twins) were purchased from Old Navy and floral headbands ordered from Amazon completed the girls’ outfits.
Décor included beautiful paper wall flowers made by a family friend, spring flowers in terracotta pots purchased from a local hardware store, a framed “Stop and Smell the Roses” saying and yummy treats.  A pink and purple ombre-frosted cake, coordinating smash cakes and tulip-shaped sugar cookies were all made by Mom and devoured by guests.

Olivia’s Mediterranean Inspired 1st Birthday Party

My inspiration for Olivia’s Mediterranean birthday party came from two things: her nickname, Baby Olives, and a gorgeous dress our friends got her when they went to Greece.
I made the invitations and envelope liners myself, and because I love beautiful postage stamps, I just had to curate a set of stamps that went along with the Mediterranean theme!
I wanted to have something at the party that the adults could do, so we set up an olive oil tasting game. There were five different olive oils, each with a slightly different flavor profile. The guests were to taste each one and try to match the oil in the dish to the bottle it came from. I chose not to use infused oil flavors just to make the game a bit harder. The winner received, of course, a nice bottle of olive oil!
For the food, my mother and mother-in-law made an amazing Mediterranean feast! A lot of the food was made from produce from our garden (that my husband grew!). We had the tastiest falafel ever with cucumber sauce, rice and lentils, cucumber and tomato salad, caprese skewers, bruschetta, and pesto pasta salad. There were three spreads for the bread and crackers: hummus, baba ganoush, and sun-dried tomato pesto. And we had the most amazing charcuterie board full of extra fixings such as dates, caramelized walnuts, and roasted red peppers.
There were cakes too, although I don’t have any photos of them, unfortunately. We set them on the display stands and bees immediately came for all the sugar on them, so we covered them up until it was time for dessert. I had made mini olive oil bundt cakes with a lemon glaze. If you’ve never had an olive oil cake before, it’s a traditional Italian cake made with olive oil instead of butter. We also had adorable sugar cookies made by Dorothy Ann Bakery. Lemons, flowers, and number ones!
For the kids, we held a simple Olympic Games. There was the long jump, discus, balance beam, hurdles, javelin throw, and a race. We used a frisbee for the discus and a dowel for the javelin throw. When it was over, the kids lined up and we had a little “ceremony” where they were awarded their metals!
The party was held in a park right on the Mississippi River. A cool, foggy morning turned into a beautiful, sunny 80 degrees.
We had a wonderful day celebrating our baby girl! She is our pride and joy, and we love her so much.

Our Little Doll Birthday Party

Our Little Doll Everley loves to sit and play with her baby dolls! So we knew we wanted to incorporate dolls into her third birthday party.
I started off by finding the vintage little girl images on Etsy.  And then everything else came from that.
All of our little friends brought their baby dolls and when the arrived they were given a “diaper bag”.  In the diaper bag they had a blanket, bottle, diaper, and band aid.  I set up a play area where they could change their babies’ diaper, rock it, and feed it.  Some of the older girls played “doctor” and you could bring you baby to get a check up.  The doctors gave their babies a shot and a band aid.

Charlotte’s Cinco de Mayo 1st Birthday

My younger daughter, Charlotte, was born on Cinco de Mayo. I wanted to throw her a “fiesta’ to celebrate her first birthday. I love the bright colors of this themes – they are as cheerful as Charlotte’s personality. I still wanted the party to be “girly” for her so I incorporated a lot of floral elements including the printables, the flowers on the tables and mantels and on the back drop. We had the children play pin the flower on Charlotte, they shook maracas, and had fun with a pinata. We had quesadillas for the kids and a taco bar for the adults. It was a fun and festive first birthday!

Babychella Shower

We’re heading into spring and one of our favorite events that kicks off the season is none other than, Coachella. A fun music festival full of wildflowers, bright decor, and who can forget that Ferris wheel! Here we created a baby girl shower which we like to call, Babychella.
