So…I am letting the news out early again and of course the designer in me is totally wanting to start my designing daydreams for a new nursery. We are expecting our 3rd baby this November. Right now we have 2 boys and are really hoping for a little chicky! Now we certainly would be smitten with a 3rd boy, but the girly-girl in me is ready for a little pink…

I find myself looking for inspiration these days in rooms which have “grown up” themes and accents. I love the idea of turning a child’s room slightly “topsy turvy” with a little bit of the eclectic. Rooms that have a element of surprise and uniqueness.

Well, the time finally came to start transitioning my son from his crib into his “big boy bed”. Even though I purchased the toddler conversion kit for is Moderne Crib by Netto Collection, I wanted him to get accustomed to sleeping in a real bed by himself; mainly for when we travel as he can now easily climb in and out of a pack-n-play. We needed a bed which was compact yet allowed for ample storage space or extra sleeping space. So a trundle was the right option…
With the right wallpaper a nursery can have that complete, polished look that screams “professionally decorated.” Adding wallpaper to any room can feel like a big commitment but done tastefully, it can bring in drama and sophistication. I found some examples of that highly stylized look that works in today’s nursery.
o ahead kids…draw on the walls! HUH? Yes…go for it! Turn one of your kid’s bedroom or playroom walls into an “ok to draw on me area”. A much better solution than your little Picasso taking pen to sofa or bare walls at this point, right? Create a wall that is simply painted with some chalkboard paint. Make the area as big or as little as you like.
