Peter Pan & Greenery Nursery

Peter Pan was my favorite movie growing up, so I always knew that my first baby would have a Peter Pan-themed nursery. At our 20-week anatomy scan, we found out our baby had a congenital heart defect that would require open heart surgery in the first week of life. The nursery became my “happy place” where I could do something productive with my anxious energy and be excited for our baby despite the challenges we had ahead of us. We didn’t find out what we were having, so I kept it gender-neutral and used greenery/wood decor, which was loosely inspired by the “Lost Boys Hideout.” My favorite part is the vintage Peter Pan book collection that I acquired throughout my pregnancy through various thrift book websites; one of the books dates back to 1911. The other accent pieces were made by myself, a talented carpenter friend, or various Etsy shop owners. The leaf wall decals were purchased from an Etsy shop that makes beautiful watercolor decals. One of my favorite pieces of furniture is the tree stump storage ottoman that holds our baby’s stuffed animals. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Moroccan Boho Vibes

I knew I wanted a feature wall, the color was selected from a Pinterest pallet I saw. But the original thought of yellow was too bright. So we went with a Tumeric Yellow which reminded me of Morocco and my husband and I’s honeymoon there. From there, the colors seemed to easily build on one another with the crib being the second primary feature. I incorporated hand made woven baskets from Zimbabwe and added the changing basket from project nursery to round out the look.

A Vintage Baby Girl Nursery

Our popular Gold Dust Crib Collection pops on the baby crib that features an antiqued finish.  This white and gold baby bedding features a gold stripe crib sheet, crib skirt accented with tassels and optional gold and white crib rail cover.  One of our top selling crib bedding sets, the Gold Dust Collection is extremely versatile and can blend easily with a variety of nursery styles.

The white ship lap wall is the perfect backdrop and adds farmhouse flair.  The ladder in the corner is a convenient spot for holding baby blankets and adds a rustic touch.  Greenery is an easy way to add color and bring nature inside.  The sweet leaf rings and and garland give the room a boho vibe.

An antique white dresser, featuring gold drawer pulls, adds romantic charm and was a flea market find.  Subtle gold accents can be seen throughout the room including the wall mirror, crib, floating shelves and baby bedding.

Using the top of a dresser in the nursery as a changing station is a clever idea.  It eliminates the need for a separate changing table and saves space in the room.

Wood plank floors provide a rustic feel and add to the vintage ambiance of the room.  A tribal area rug from Rugs USA adds a soft play spot for Lonnie Renee.  The touch of pink in the rug coordinates with the blush pink curtains from Wayfair and cozy pom pom blanket.

A white rocker anchors a special spot for reading, feedings and cuddling.  The angel painting on the wall is in memory of Rachel’s mom who passed away of cancer in 2018.  Such a sweet meaningful and personal touch to the room.

An ottoman pouf from Target is the perfect spot for relaxing tired feet.

Mixing new and old can create a one-of-a-kind room for a baby girl!  Shopping for unique treasures at thrift shops and antique stores can be fun and inspirational.  Look for vintage furniture pieces, rustic shelving, second-hand books and artwork.  Pages from classic books from years ago are fun to frame and hang on the walls.

Sweet Peach

I am due with my first girl at the beginning of April. When looking for inspiration for her space I fell in love with a project that used clementine oranges, but I wanted something a little more feminine. That is when I found the Peach decals on the Project Nursery website and I knew that was going to be my focus for her room. My husband built the window seat and the board and batten wall. I am in love with how the space turned out and cannot wait for her to get here.
