Mason’s California Nursery

I really like the wood panel statement walls and thought it would be so cool to paint the California flag on for my son’s nursery. My husband came up with the idea of making the whole wall the flag, which I love! I enjoyed coming up with bear related decor, such as the stuffed bears, rocking bear, and bear pillow. The California print is a great pop of red in the room, along with the large red metal star. I made the California themed mobile, bear art print and star crib skirt. I had so much fun collecting special little things to make my son’s nursery special and personal. Plus, we were intentional about making this a space he can grow into and think we will all enjoy it for many years to come.

Maddox’s Mountain Nursery

I fell in love with the idea of a mountain mural for my second son’s nursery and the overall concept grew from there. We also felt like it was a perfect compliment to his big brother’s “California” room. It was important for us to chose something that will stand the test of time from nursery to kid’s room. I especially love the shades of blue we used (after careful consideration) and how inviting the colors make the room. We measured out a grid on the wall to get the mountains outlined and then used a projector for the tree silhouettes. I was lucky enough to find several items used, including the crib and large dresser. I made the mobile using wooden triangles, fishing line and a wooden round. I also made two of the art prints and added “explore” to the small globe. Putting the nursery together was such a fun and unique experience, slowly collecting pieces that fit and watching the room take shape, imagining the little life that would soon come home to this space!

Backyard Baby Shower

Welcome to our Backyard Baby Shower. This event was full of DIY details! We celebrated the new parents in their adorable backyard with family and friends. A warm February afternoon called for a Mom-osa bar, Sangria, finger sandwiches, fresh fruit, veggies, donuts and a delicious dessert table. We set up a photo booth area using a Polaroid camera and our take-home favors were adorable little succulents. It was a fantastic afternoon filled with love and excitement for the soon to be arrival of Baby Daphne.

Farmhouse Nursery

I am 32 weeks pregnant with a 17 month old…my first thought was “no way am I going to spend a ton of time preparing a nursery!” But then, walking down the aisles of Hobby Lobby, a sweet vision came to my mind! A lot of their farmhouse decor was on clearance, so I started loading up my basket with the hopes my vision would soon come together. Our work was cut out for us since we needed to convert my messy office/craft room into a nursery, but Mama was in nesting phase and was certain we could accomplish anything!
I knew I wanted an accent wall behind the crib so I started my handy work researching on Pinterest. Viola! Brick accent wall! Got the tutorial and got to work with my amazing husband’s assistance of course! I was obsessed with the final product and immediately wanted to brick the entire house!! I knew I also wanted to add some farmhouse touches to the window. So we made a tin window awning to go above the window and replaced the blinds with bamboo shades! Oh so lovely! Now for the paint color…I wanted to keep the paint neutral like the rest of our house, so I went with Benjamin Moore Simply White. Painting is my forte, the opposite of course for my husband but we got it done!
Now to add the decor! The best part! I got the changing table from my mother in law and with her blessing, painted it with rustoleum aged gray chalk paint and added handles from Hobby Lobby. Love how it turned out! I knew I wanted some storage for above the changing table but wanted it to be cute and also easy to use. We purchased the wall baskets from At Home. We used an easy tutorial on the barn shutters which perfectly completes the look I was going for. I struggled with what rug I wanted, but decided to go with the cowhide because I love cowhide and the different pattern fit in quite well to really complete the room, and bonus it was on sale at Hobby Lobby!
We absolutely love how it turned out and hope you enjoy the tour into our sweet boy’s nursery!

Boho Modern Bunnies

My goal was to create a nursery that combined traditional elegance with the bohemian/modern styles that I also love. I wanted to focus on a pale blue color to balance out the feminine elements of the space (i.e. the bow shades, floral wallpaper, etc.) The blush and gold accents were then layered in with the hardware, rug and the subtly pale pink ceiling. I wanted to make sure each wall and aspect of the room brought something unique and unexpected. Instead of the traditional glider/rocker, I went with a large and round swivel chair. The ladder is a creative take on the popular “blanket ladders” – instead mine will be used for swaddles. I also wanted to include decor that wasn’t too childish, so that the room is practical for years to come.
