World Traveler Themed, Colorful, Eclectic and Boho Nursery

Description

Over the course of about two months I collected pieces for this nursery and put it together for our little girl's arrival on December 1st! To be honest, all I pictured was a lot of bright colors and a world traveler theme, and other than that there was no plan! I just always tell people to buy things you like and then it'll all come together when you're decorating! I think it's more fun that way.

Design Inspiration

This nursery was put together with hopes that our little Everly Brynn would learn to love all the people and all the places of the world! With two parents who love to travel and explore, we thought it would be a great idea to do a nursery that used bright colors and pieces that inspired our little girl to be an adventurer! The store World Market is also a huge inspiration!

Decorating Style

This nursery is an eclectic, boho and contemporary nursery with pieces that were thrifted, handmade in my craft room and bought from handmade stores!

Project Details

I buy SO MUCH from handmade stores. Nearly everything in here is handmade or bought from a handmade friend! If you follow me on Instagram you can see where I tag every single one of the contributors for this room!! Instagram name is @AmyLouHawthorne

Crib from Babyletto.

Pillows from Juniper Wilde, Ivie Baby Shop, Paisley Spouts, Chrissie Grace, World Market and Ikea.

Cross blanket from Wren and Rumor.

Striped sheets from Two Little Fish Inc.

Mobile from The Alison Show.

Wall decals from Urban Walls.

I found each of the six prints as downloads off Etsy for $5 each! I wanted prints that incorporated the world traveler/explorer theme.

Changing table was an old wood table that we painted white to go with the crib. I then found cute bright baskets to store items under the table.

Gallery Wall has pieces from The Printed Pallette, Katie is a Daisy, Lindsay Letters and Baby Jives.

Changing table cover from Little Woolf Kids.

Locker was thrifted and globes from Target and TJ Maxx. I also rolled up maps and stored them in a wire basket to go with the world traveler theme!

Flowers on nightstand from Cole Frank.

Embroidered hoop on door from Ivey Handcrafted.

Dolls from The Land of Nod, Hidden in my Heart Dolls, Sweet Littles Handmade, Little Wife Powerhouse, Disney and Candykirby Designs.

Hand sewn map from Sewing Sunflowers.

For the DIY gallery wall: I never really plan out gallery walls. I honestly just find a bunch of pieces that I like and then start hanging! I find pieces that incorporate the colors of the room and then piece them all together!

Favorite Items

My favorite item has to be either 1: my thrifted locker that we sanded down and spray painted a pretty turquoise color or 2: my DIY driftwood clothes hanger! Everyone loves that! I bought the lanterns from Party City and then made yarn poms and tassels to hang from them. We found a piece of driftwood we liked at a local beach and then hung it with hemp wire. I use it to display our favorite outfits in her room.

Advice

Don't worry about perfection! Your kiddo is gonna love it no matter what, I promise! Just find pieces you love and that inspire you and it'll all come together. To get this look, find bright pieces and mix them with black and white! Bright colors just make me happy, and everyone that walks into this room smiles! And don't ever forget about stores like Marshalls, TJ Maxx and Home Goods. You can't beat their prices! I like to think my nursery is the store World Market in a room! That store has so much inspiration!
