Will’s Nursery

Description

With the help of my talented aunt, the professional interior decorator, I created this nursery for my first child, Will. My wonderful mom and I sewed all of the bedding, pillows, and curtains.

Design Inspiration

I was inspired by several nurseries on this website. You will recognize the striped wall from another popular nursery and the color scheme of gray and orange.

Decorating Style

I like for rooms to feel very warm and inviting. I always pick bold colors and want the room to feel eclectic. I never want the rooms I decorate to feel like I purchased everything from the same store.

Project Details

I created the majority of the art that is on the walls. You can find links to tutorials on my blog: www.bellaandbrinkleysmomma.blogspot.com

Favorite Items

I love, love, love the orange chair! At first, I wanted to keep the chair neutral and have a bold pillow, but my aunt encouraged me to go with orange and I am so glad I did! I think it really makes the nursery pop.

Advice

Try to incorporate a few hand-made items into the room to create a custom and unique nursery.

I found the chair on Craigslist and had it recovered with fabric I found at Home Fabrics.

My mom and I custom made the bedding and pillows. The fabric we chose for the bumpers came from Calico Corners. The gray fabric was on sale at JoAnn Fabrics. The orange polka dot fabric was found on clearance for $1/yard at Home Fabrics. The blue polka dot and tree fabric was found at a little boutique. I hope this helps!

Only one photo? Do add more so we could get a bigger picture of your nursery and we'd see how talented your aunt is!
