Weston’s Nursery

Description

A fun, colorful, eclectic space where our son can learn and play!

Design Inspiration

The crib bedding--I found it at a baby store that was going out of business.  I also love vintage finds from Roundtop/Warrenton Antique Weekends (acres of people selling cool stuff in cow pastures two times a year!)

Decorating Style

Eclectic, vintage, Texas with a touch of kitschy.  And probably too cluttered, but I like stuff!

Project Details

--I love the decoupaged mount for the antlers--it was a fun, easy project using stamps purchased on eBay and attached/covered with Mod Podge.

--I was originally wanting to find metal letters for Weston's name, but I didn't like the price for most that I found.  So instead, I purchased paper mache letters and spray painted them silver.  Can't beat $2.50 each!

--The framed pictures over the crib are pages from a Little Golden Book "Book of Manners".  I loved the words and illustrations--it's never to early to start learning manners :)

--I collect vintage Texas and Wisconsin postcards--I'm from TX and my husband is from WI, so I thought Weston's room was a good place to display his "roots".

Favorite Items

The needlepoint Noah's Ark that my great-grandmother made for my brother.  It's on loan until he has children.  I also adore the cow hide.

Advice

I enjoy mixing new items with vintage finds.  And if I find something I love, I find a way to work it in to the room.  Later, Weston can edit what he doesn't like :)

I love that shoe/towel rack you have there.  That’s unique and creative!  I also think that the knick-knacks you’ve included all throughout, on the shelves, on tables, these are great.  And you did great with the lettering too!

You must tell us where you got those lovely storage boxes that you have on that cabinet there in the main photo.  I love how fun this room looks!
