Description
Colorful, whimsical nursery perfect for a new baby boy
Design Inspiration
I was inspired by PN and other decorating sites. I was going for something colorful and fun without spending too much money! I found the rug first and then everything else fell into place.
Decorating Style
Whimsical and clean without being too matchy. I love mod/retro fabrics and like adding color.
Project Details
Anthropologie, craigslist, etsy.com, fabric.com, joanns!!!
Favorite Items
My favorite item in the room is the rug that I purchased from anthropologie. It is colorful and fun without being too babyish! Also, I love the curtains and bedskirt. I picked out the fabric at Joann's and a friend sewed them and made the cornice...they work so great against the green walls. The dresser I purchased off craigslist for $25 and painted it and love how it turned out. The bed was bought from a friend and although I don't love the shape of it, I think it works well with the curtains and green walls. The animal prints and name prints were bought off etsy and were both reasonably priced. The abacus was bought from toys'r'us and the adorable cowboy boots were my husbands! Wesley is due on Wednesday and his room is almost complete!
Advice
Add lots of color and have fun decorating. Make the space unique and don't buy the bed in a bag because they are so expensive and you never use the bumpers. Find one piece you really love and go from there. Shop for fabrics and have fun!

So cute! You did such a nice job. I was curious, what color/brand did you use on the dresser? And did you sand it beforehand as well? We are restoring a dresser too. Any help will be great, thanks! Great job!

Good job! He will love it and when he is much, much older he will appreciate all the hard work and love that when into it.

I thought those little boots must have sentimental value! So cute :o) Great job on your nursery, and best wishes on your labor next week. His room is all ready.
