Walker’s Nursery

Description

This project is our son, Walker's nursery. My husband and I were so excited when we found out we were expecting our first baby and I, if course, was super excited to design a nursery. I was convinced we were having a girl and couldn't wait to make the sweetest, most adorable nursery for her. When we found out we were expecting a little boy, I thought I would not have any clue what to do for the nursery! Luckily, my husband had a little bit of an idea but one day we were sitting in his "man cave" and in there was a picture from where we used to live before conceiving. By this time, we had moved to the burbs and to a new state. We both loved where we used to live, in sunny California on the beach. Every year there was a fun, automotive related event right in the beach that we loved to attend and we had a photo framed from that event. That's when it hit us that we would use that photo as our inspiration.  We decided to use the colors from the photo and it would be a little bit of a car theme without being too childish or chestc. Plus we met at work, which is a large automotive manufacturer, so it seemed fitting. The colors of gray, blues and a little bit of industrial/garage feel would be perfect. So, we chose the Miles crib from Baby Relax because we loved the hardware on it and the color! For our glider, I feel immediately in love with the Babyletto chair. I just loved how bulky and beautiful the fabric is. We bought a rug off Amazon, our fun poof from Crate & Barrel, and the bookshelves from Ikea. To pull it all together and my most favorite item is the personalized sign purchased from ModWoodCo on Etsy! Some of the small details not seen here are the 3-blade wood propeller ceiling fan, industrial piping curtain rod to match the side table and the hardware on the crib, and a fun toy chest that looks like stacked tires. We love how it turned out and that it has small car details but isn't screaming CARS! We would love if our nursery could be featured on your Instagram. I've tagged you in my post and my insta handle is @simplypanda82. Thank you!
