Twin’s Nursery

Description

I wanted something bright, retro, comfortable and unique... not something that looked straight out of Babies 'R' Us. And I wanted it to be a room that the girls could grow into. Aside from the cribs, I can see everything else staying in the room for while... it's not "babyish". I have more details about there things were purchased on my blog: http://www.laurensandersonphotography.com/monday-nursery-huntsville-photographer/

Design Inspiration

I had been seeing a lot of stuff on Pinterest lately that totally sparked my creative juices for the nursery. Once I picked the teal color for the wall, everything else just seemed to fall into place.

Decorating Style

Repurposing beautiful things for modern functionality.

Project Details

A couple of things I particularly love about the room are the old coke crates on the walls as shelving, removing the closet doors and adding curtains, adding ribbon trim at the bottom of the sheer curtains for a pop of color, the leftover scrapbook paper bunting, and the vintage elements all throughout the room that I found at antique stores and my grandmother's house.

Favorite Items

Probably the furniture. It started out at dingy old chestnut colored dressers, but my wonderful husband painted them a crisp white and I refinished the little knobs to be silver, and replaced the old handles with new silver pull cups.

Advice

Just look for stuff you love and feel passionately about... it will work in your room as long as there is a connection with the piece.

Hi, I know this is an older post, but I was hoping someone could help me out with the what the color of the walls are in this nursery. I love the colors! Thank you, Sheri

I love what you did with the sofa and throw afghan. The pops of color are fabulous and so unexpected, but they fit very well in the space!! I absolutely adore this space, it is so practical and homy.

It looks like a pristine nursery, but the details are fun, interesting, and colorful. I love the old Coke crates, too. Your twins can definitely grow into this room.

Very nice job!  Your floor is wood as well, so the crates and highchair work perfectly in my opinion.  I am looking for the right color of paint and I really like yours.  I am also debating on whether to paint my ceiling white or leave it natural.  It is wood paneling inspired by pottery barn.  Of course, white seems obvious, but it is a boy and I am doing a beachy theme so the natural wood is just right, too.  Your room is very soothing and comforting.

In a room of white and clean-looking furniture, the Coke crates seem out of place. But they are really cute and I really like them. They seem to match the high chair, too.
